why 21BTC i don't get why that exact number. even if you are making a speculation for the future price and getting rich there is a room not an exact number Cheesy

anyways, i think putting aside all the businesses like exchangers, gambling sites, online wallets,... there are a lot of traders who have that amount. you have to put that much in to make a decent profit each day.
The total number of bitcoins ever will be 21m, so that's why 21 bitcoins.
i think less than 2k people own 21 btc.

21 Bitcoins is a desirable amount because of the 21 million Bitcoins that will be issued? To be honest I am seeing people who gamble 20-30 btc a bet on Bitcoin sportsbooks and Dice sites so this elite status is nothing more than people with cash buying Bitcoins to hold or dispose of.

And 21 Bitcoins at current market price is approx. $8505 which in a first world country with a good salary and a normal full-time job can be earned in 1-2 months worth of work. It's another story if you are trying to earn the same amount here with the pittance which the sig campaigns are offering to you.
Those people are millionaires, so that's the elite playing around. In the grand scheme of things, most people will never even own 1 BTC...
get some perspective and you will realize 21 BTC will be impossible for most people to ever own, and I agree with everyone saying that 21 BTC is a perfect number to have because of the 21 million BTC total.

anybody who has a big amount of bitcoin (like 21 btc) is not going to publicly announce having it and there is no way of telling this.

there is anonymity and also people save their coins in multiple addresses sometimes which makes it immpossible to make such statistics.

Buying the dip...

I think 21BTC is not a difficult target at the moment. How did you derive the number "2k" for 21 BTC owners? I think we should have more. My guess is at least 10k people with 21 BTC or above...

There is actually a thread that I read two days ago that breaks down bitcoin holders on a yearly level and shows how many people hold what on average.
Was pretty interesting as there are only 3 people with massive amounts and 20 bitcoins there was only about a thousand out of a million people.
Wish I could find the thread if I find it I will come back and link it.

Dude 21 BTC is a lot of money, you must live in a bubble. Most people all over the world are struggling to pay bills, there's no way anyone but a small minority would be able to drop 10K worth of BTC to have 21BTC... a very small minority not only on a global level, but only on a "first world countries" level.

I agree, 21 BTC may today have a large number of people, especially those living in developed countries and have solid earnings.
To buy 21 BTC you need today 8600 $,but people accumulate BTC for years so number of people with 21 BTC is for sure greater than several thousand.Let say it is 10k,so that people have in total 210 000 BTC which is due to the total amount of 15+ million BTC small percentage.

Well the most people has less then 1 btc ,at this forum in a year with signature paying you can collect atleast those ammount.I believe the huge part of us has something around 2-10btc from signature work, made till now.As last year people were earning around 0,40btc montly. To have such ammount ,the 21 btc at earning from signatures well maybe one or other has such, but buying all those coins is something some people cant afford ,not because they cant buy it ,but because they have others issues above bitcoin ,as pay house, car.

21 BTC = 21x410 $ = 8610 $ , it is not small number but I think there are many people have this number . almost gamblers or traders

The entry point is already high enough for like 99% of people out there... I mean ask if someone you know would be willing to put near 10k in Bitcoin.
Even if they had a decent amount of money, they would be reticent because they would not know what Bitcoin is, maybe they have heard it a couple of time in some lame headlines. Thats why anyone holding 21 BTC is such a pioneer.

And the smart thing is to have no more than 5% in risky investments. So if you have 10k invested in BTC, you should have 190k elsewhere.

The number 21 is special because only 21 million Bitcoins will be ever issued so most people would like to own at least 0.00001% of the total amount of Bitcoins that will exist in the World. That will happen by 2110 +/1 a decade or 2 so we will be dead already but our kids or grandkids may be multi billionairs  Grin

Or perhaps Bitcoin will be dead till then and replaced by a better currency altogether. Or the World could be invaded and destroyed by aliens. Or a 3rd World war could have destroyed our planet after a  massive nuclear strike. Or we may be living on Mars because our planet is dying.

Or...

You got the point... In my opinion BTC will survive for at least 10 years. 10 years later I think a BTC equals to 5 digit number if economical situation goes like today's.

How many people would you say that own 21 BTC approximately nowadays? What % you are at if you own 21 BTC?

I know it's hard to guesstimate since we can't know how many people how X addresses, but maybe there is some way to make a reasonable stimulation.

I ask this because a lot of people have this dream of owning 21 BTC as a storage of value for the very long term (10+ years). I think it's excellent advice, to own this amount on the most important network ever. I also dream to reach that amount before it's too late, so im hoping the price stays where it's at before we break ATH again.
I think there aren't many people out there who own that amount, even gamblers because not all of gamblers have that amount because if there's a winner, of course there's a loser.

I also want to own that amount, but I even don't have 20% of it. you know, I need some stuff yo buy every month, daily necessities, kind of thing. so even in 10 years probably I won't get that amount unless I'm lucky

I had at one time 30 bitcoins and 12 bitcoin of those I made through just one crypto currency ICO. Those were the days for me but now I am struggling to get my first new bitcoin together to start all over again to save. I do have though around 5 bitcoins worth of digital currencies that I could convert to bitcoin but I did once at least own more than 21.

It's full of people that started several years ago and used to own hundreds of Btc, but because of an adverse fate (hard drive failures, gambling, need to convert btc to fiat for personal reasons, etc) have now a tiny fraction of that.

Under construction.

21 means you own 1/1,000,000 so you're one in a million, :p.

It is possible to know the exact amount of adresses but i don't know that number and there will be quite a number of people out there with 21 bitcoin. If you strive really hard and if you have a good rank it can't be that hard

What does your rank have to do with how much money you have? There are legendaries with no money and newbies with millions. There's no correlation.

I think big investors would be having that amount of bitcoins, but the normal users working on signature campaign would not holding that huge amount.

That's true people who are working hard to earn from campaigns would be earning a descent amount of bitcoins but 21 btc is too high to hold.
