well first of all i honestly believe that people are smart enough not to start such stuff once again so im pretty sure there wont be such thing in the future

but if the ww3 happened and there would be any survivors im pretty sure bitcoin could still be mined by solving easy math problems on paper as its difficulty would drop really hard

Yup, if there is WW3 there will be nothing left pretty much or we will all most kill our self off the weapons we have to day and they had in the first two war's well there is not much to compare to imo . but that's how i see it . I'm glad we kind of had control over the a bomb ( the US ) or we would be done, by now . yes i know were that came form or what country.

as you say it would Polly all be done on paper and pin, there won't be networks like we have now , bitcoins would live on etc in a different way ..... but be worth any thing at that point, remains to be seen .

why should gold have more value than bitcoin in a nuclear war like that, if anything nothing will have value, if not the essential things like foods and water

The only reason gold would have more value is you can see it, hold it, and bitcoins are virtual, other wise they Polly would be our trading, money, cash etc but with no way to make them and trade them > network ,they would be worthless and we would lose our internet and all else in WW 3. you can bet food and water will be the top things for any one and everyone to seek out, that's means more fighting over control for what might be left etc etc.

I'd bet on bitcoin would survive - among the 7 billion people there must be a group of people determined to keep it live somewhere in hideaway. As the difficulty would fall dramatically, they could mine tousands of coins, but I doubt if BTC would be worth anything after the war is over.

If we have WW3 that's the end, i wouldn't bother worrying about anything else, currency wold mean nothing, commodity would be guns and places to live and things to eat. Food will probably be the most common needed items out of the lot and will become worth alot, also water and fuel. Our planets already stuffed up, the weather is going crazy and animals are dying. If we start using neuclear we only hurting ourselves in the long run. It will all be over then, planet earth died so yes btc would die and so would paper money. You can't eat money or gold or use gold to defend yourself so weapons would be a better commodity.

I'm not really sure how BTC will survive WW3 but what I can think of is WW3 destroying the internet, and the go signal to execute the New World Order (conspiracy theorists unite). With regards to BTC, it may survive if NWO will allow it to, for I believe that behind every BTC transaction is something we are about to know.

I wish that there is not a new world war, but if it happen again i don't think that Bitcoin will survive unless if the internet services survive too as Bitcoin is working only by the internet network.

Bitcoin can survive World War 3 only if it becomes mainstream and is adopted by each and every person on the surface of earth.Nobody can predict how many people would be alive after world war but bitcoin needs a digital infrastructure for it survival which,I highly doubt,would survive World War 3

Bitcoin would survive a hypothetical WWIII scenario as long as someone had the last blockchain instance before the internet was to inevitably collapse. Hypothetically this would allow for that person to then broadcast the blockchain via radio, but that might be a trivial pursuit.

Internet will had a big use for us if internet ang the country who produced bitcoins ,i think we can't make it safe. Then if thw ww3 is on going we will think first the safe place for us to hide for our family.we can't use bitcoin there also if bitcoin comany was damage and all wallets also .i think our bitcoin will disappear if that happens.

Yes your right we will forgot the use of it .the first we will think is our safety on that situation.. Ithink its half way.because bitcoin use world wide so the country that is not affected they can continue the bitcoin..unless bitcoin managing breaks down by war.

In case if there still an Internet and the bitcoin network did not collapse, people may tend to trust it more than their local currencies during that predicted war. but I do not think when a new world war happen people will think about money as they think about surviving

Certainly I am not into any war,I wish there should be always no war. I just want to know how resilient bitcoin is. And if Bitcoin can be should be improved any way.
My feeling even there is a world wide war, there will be one or two nations keep neutral and serve as bitcoin backbone, running some nodes and I am sure Bitcoin will be as good physical gold.

Slim chance of surviving we may have to start again with a new coin if war happens. The only important thing we'd look after during war is the food like what the above users said. we won't be busy exchanging digital goods during war but missiles.

War is part of life, and it comes in cycles. You will see when there is a huge explosion in global population or economic problems, people tend to fight more over scares resources like water or energy. In the end it comes down to survival, and whomever is the strongest or the most technically evolved will prosper and they will survive. We are getting close to a situation where we have to compete for water and/or energy because of global warming and debt spiraling out of control. The decentralized nature of Bitcoin, will keep it going after a world war, because not all countries will be affected. Some countries are always neutral to war, and the nodes running there, will sustain the network.

I think peoples will survive and like what you told is correct gold and bitcoins will become more precious and the value will be cannot imagine, but then also same thing for survive you need food so everything is needed but for that currency needed and the supply also wanted.
