Are electric cars bad for the oil industry?

Maybe because it lower oil sales,bit many of us don't want to use electric car because the life of the battery not ready for a long drve. So for me much better to use oil than a elwctric car.

While the batteries may now be one of the weaknesses of the electric cars, it is also true that the engine itself is one of the (many) weak componentes on combustion vehicles. I would very much like to see how the Tesla truck stand the test of time and the test of the many miles that a professional trucker can do in a short time. If it survives and is profitable, it will be a game changer.

It might be, but not yet. The number of people using oil powered vehicle is much more superior than the ones using EV. Not only that there oil are used in many more things except vehicles. Maybe in the future when everyone adopts renewable energy we can see oil fall.

It will affect the oil industry. Its popularity will be going down, but some power plants is powered by oil. If we patronise electric cars the more we consume electricity. Because of the high demand of people in electricity, the more the power plants demand in the oil industry. So I think maybe it will go down but not that totally.

There is always an advantage and disadvantage in both source of cars. Gasoline produce a percentage in air pollution that intake by human, and animals. That result to some illness, and diseases.
Electric cars is quiet good than gasoline cars coz its not produce a big percentage in air pollution.
Electrical car is better than gasoline car.

Oil industry i not worried or not even a threat to electric cars. Gasoline-powered vehicles are still the most widely used cars because of its ability to run faster and in longer distance. While electric cars, there are still lot of disadvantages. The charge is limited only to certain distance and after that, where are you going to charge if you run out of electricity in the middle of the forest. You cannot even carry a replacement battery for that. Unlike gasoline, you can have extra gallon every time you travel.

e-Vehicle is becoming the new main thing now which is bad for the oil companies, but acquiring e-Vehicles would really help in progress to the future, but it may took a very long time before they can oust the oil runned vehicles, theres a big difference between an e-vehicle and a vehicle run in oil. It obviously affects the oil companies because of these electronic cars or worse to closed their company. It will be good for respective drivers  and to our environment in general but it will be a burden to oil industry. What more if government will declare to use electronic cars someday; but I don't think this will happen for they earn profit from it.
Also, big taxes are involved here.

There is another subject about electric cars. They are sustainable but they need high level energy. In the future having electric car will be easy for many people. They have risks for oil industry. Especially in the future people will stop using oil for energy. Think about 50 years later. It will not a dream.

And in fact, this can not happen or just happen in the very distant future because the cost to buy an electric car is too expensive and the speed, the time of use is very limited, it does not satisfy the needs of the user, inconvenience is too large, it is not really suitable for this modern life

I think when that happens it will really be good for the environment. The oil industry will be affected but think about the benefits that the environment can get when we stop using oil, I think there will be more fresh air rather than pollution that cars emit. Since the price of oil is continuously rising I think having an electric car would be practical in many ways.

It can destroy the oil industry, but the problem is that as of now the electric cars are not very affordable. Electric cars such as Nissan Leaf and Tesla Model S costs as much as 5 to 10 times more than their gasoline equivalents. On top of that, the battery needs frequent replacement.

Electric Cars, well for me it is great and I think it is not bad for the oil industry in the sense that we are giving a chance to conserve our resources for the optimum usage of oil products. Oil products will be utilizes to the factory and other industry that uses gas and oil. Meaning, we can no longer experiencing the shortage of oil because some cars are generated by electricity. Therefore we can now maximize every resources we have, we have alternative sources to run vehicles and cars. No more price hike, no more complaint. I think, we always look on the other good side of everything instead of knowing the bad thing, so we could help one another.
