Wonder what happened to gkelly?
over 7900 BTC remaining at 15Z5YJaaNSxeynvr6uW6jQZLwq3n1Hu6RX
Last active on the forum around April 2010, last activity at the address Oct 2010. Hope they still have the private key, would suck to have lost it because you didn't think they were worth much.
Wow, good catch. $160k worth of bitcoins... EDIT: Looks like he has a twitter that's active: https://twitter.com/gkellyLooks like it's the right gkelly https://twitter.com/gkelly/status/57333924417900544

my "0" balance is also completely wrong. lol.
Uhhh....no it's not. http://blockchain.info/address/1HB9mgo3cdqBoC3jPemDpD8TPHFxcuQ8ADThe OP isn't foolishly claiming the numbers he is listing are the total amounts owned by each user. That's just silly. Everyone knows that. You could also look at this as a "who in bitcoin land chose to make their balances known" exercise. My estimate is roughly correct and since it's never gonna make me ridiculously wealthy, I'm not all that concerned about who knows. If it does make me crazy wealthy...well...I guess people will know that.

Look like I'm good at hiding my game! Maybe I never publicly published a Bitcoin address. I can't remember doing so.

Now a revised version (users registered by Jun 26, 2011), only use the address in signature. Register date included.

Below is a (very incomplete) list of users on this forum with their balance and received BTC. .... deepceleron 12ViYXgordxUkmPhN5PAU9vJRHwc8jftfQ 8.4 8.4
It appears that this is harvested from posts, like below. Obviously not my address, so the methodology is flawed: Indeed. Fixed now.

Unfortunately, the dataset collected is not representative of "how rich/poor are the forum users". Hence whatever conclusion you would make based on this data in context of the thread title, would be a big steaming pile of nonsense.

Now it is, mostly. Anyways that's my best answer to the question for now. I wonder how anonymous bitcoin can be.

According to the data I have 1 bitcoin. That's about right.
Really? I assumed you had at least some Satoshi Dice shares but if you say so, 100% are owned by anonymous investors

Also not mine. I may manage the finances for Bitcoin100 charity thing, but it's not my money, and the private key for that address is shared by a few different people. I may allegedly own a few thousand bitcoin, but there's really nothing out there to link it to me

Good point. Formatted. Had to cut the list even shorter to fit in a message.
