There are many ways to teach someone about bitcoin but one way is to verbally teach them or you could give them certain websites which had enough information on bitcoin.
though if people dont know much about bitcoins i really doubt that they will want to try out the websites or read about bitcoins themselves if they dont know they can earn with it money

to be honest if i had a chance to teach someone about bitcoins i would definitely tell them stories how bitcoin gre in price massively and how it is possible to make huge money with it

it is so simple that just give him the links and told him that see the videos about bitcoin.
and after few days tell him about some more things like thread and new topics and about dicussion.
and slowely he will learn.
it is time giving activity.

Yeah that's quite a better idea. Some people are there, If you teach them for the full day about blockchain.info, bitcoin and its multipurpose uses they won't listens you. Just tell them bitcoin is the one from which you can earn huge and the very next moment they start to search and learn about bitcoin.

As the title say, what is the proper way to teach someone about what is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is a currency, i don't think that anyone need to teach it, Can you tell me someone teach you about your currency, i don't think it will be happened because no one need to teach the currency, one think to know about bitcoin , it is Understand about Bitcoins that how to use it and hander it.

Mate what will you do if they are not aware about bitcoin? You need to teach them, explain them the benefits of it and then only we can expect that will start using it.

Jessica is right. One example is history class and some subject about other countries. Teachers will still need to tell children to know what are the other currency in the world. If you are in the USA you know about your currency because you grow up using it but when you were a child do you know about "Rupee"? Do you know how much it is when exchanged in dollar? Think like a kid man!! So that you would understand them also.

Specially in the case of bitcoin which is not taught in school.

I strongly agree with this. This is the thing that happened to me. A friend just stayed in my back told me to create a wallet then do some faucets for 1 hour. Faucets are so easy so it should be the first step. Let him see what he can earn just doing that and what is more outside that can help him get much better in the future.

The thing with technology is always the same. I mean how many understand how a car really works? Or how the internet works? What a modem is? Most of the people have no clue and don't care. But they see that these things work well and have an advangate and that's why they use it. We have to make sure people see the advantages of Bitcoin. For instance it doesn't close the doors at 6pm and also is open at the weekends compared to bank!

It is normal imo, as most people will be interested in something that can be used to earn something and only few people will be interested in a new technology if they think that it will not give them nothing except new knowledge.

and I think this is about the value of a bitcoin itself. because many people are interested in using bitcoin. because when it has a high value, will be a lot of positive impact, as more and more people who want to invest in bitcoin also more and more interested in this technology.

Everything I know about BTC I learned here on bitcointalk forum. I didn't know nothing about BTC and I didn't have mentor, I didn't have nobody to show me things around. I started from beginning, claiming faucets, then forums and signature campaigns came, dice game, casinos, trading.. little by little.
Now I can say that I have some knowledge about bitcoin, I earn much more then I did in  beginning. I tried to teach people around me about btc, some people show interest for gambling, other for trading.. all in all I didn't find person in my surrounding that share same interest about bitcoin as I do.
Cause of all that I see that if someone wish to learn about btc he will come here, read a lot, ask a questions and that person with big interest in btc will learn a lot. Everything is already written. Here on forum I see smart and good people ready to help, just someone need to come and ask a question, not to ask for a loan and quick money.
Maybe I sound like I lost a faith in humans, but its just the way it is. In my country we have a saying: "who wish find a way, who doesn't wish find an excuse."

Just explain the basics about Bitcoin first. The best way to teach someone about Bitcoin is to invite to your house and let them watch you. Explaining Bitcoin via chat is going to be hard.

Yes just do the basic in bitcoin and not go through all its hard aspect and we learn easily if we see it how it is being used so watching is a way to teach how to use bitcoin.

They should be shown videos related to bitcoin which are simple and gives basic information of bitcoin as a currency, as watching video can be interesting.

I agree with this. I've read on this forum some time ago about a guy who bought beers to all of his friends with Bitcoin. That was a good example of a proper teaching IMO.

There are many ways to teach someone about bitcoin but one way is to verbally teach them or you could give them certain websites which had enough information on bitcoin.
Both talking to new people and giving them some websites are not working plan in my experience as people are getting bored so quickly with them. We must need an interactive way of teaching for the beginners to attract them into bitcoin ecosystem.

For me, to give knowledge of the bitcoin to someone we must know about their needs, if indeed they did not escape from the world of the internet we can introduce the Bitcoin to them and it's a pretty easy thing to do, because they've mastered the internet so once we love knowledge of Bitcoin surely those looking on Bitcoin and eventually they wore Bitcoin

I think there's no point in teaching about Bitcoin yet, it's too early. Give it one to two years more, and we'll see how things are looking like for the average joe. I think Bitcoin will change a lot in the way it is presented to people, specially non techies. Once we have Lightning Network and there's no more blocksize bullshit arguing and people are sending fast and cheap transactions in a seamless way, then I will tell people about it, and hopefully the war on cash is mainstream and people start realizing why they need a way out from the system.
