As the title say, what is the proper way to teach someone about what is Bitcoin?

It's now much easier to promote or teach someone about bitcoin than when it is just starting out you can just tell the guy to google it or better send him to reputable sites that has reviews about Bitcoin, experts analysis and reviews is far more better than your own words.
It has much more effect if you take the time to explain everything in easy language face to face if you know the person in real life.

Otherwise that person might get frustrated and quit because he/she doesn't understand everything properly.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

Yeah, if you can explain it to them, one by one the concepts of bitcoin and the benefits it has against fiat, I am sure they will accept bitcoin. If they did not, then move on. Go to the next person and introduce bitcoin. The point here is let others know that bitcoin is out there and there is an alternative to fiat.

Well for me first you should explain how bitcoin works and how to have it and where you can hold it.. and teach him how to convert bitcoin in to real money.. if they see that bitcoin is money i think it would be interested..

Agreed. and after all that refer him to this bitcointalk forum. here he/she can learn everything about bitcoin. he can contribute bitcoin by buying selling it. and even he can earn money also by joining a good signature campaign. so this forum is first place to learn about bitcoin for a newbie.
But we can convince anyone to join this forum by making them aware of signature campaign benefits. Because signature campaign would be a attractive way of making extra money in free time, that will make many people to come and learn about bitcoin by joining this forum.

Yeah signature campaign is the best way to earn some bitcoin, and if you explain them the entire procedure then they will surely join us on this forum.
seems to newcomers do not need to be informed about the signature campaign on. I'm afraid they'll be confused. better informed on the basis of bitcoin. until they get to know about the ins and outs of bitcoin

You can show them some YouTube videos if they are a more visual person and likes to see things in action. Or if they like reading you can show them tons of articles about bitcoin and just let them flow through them and your can provide them with a starting amount of bitcoins.

One day, I heard a friend complaining about how hard it is to get money transfer from abroad, needing to show a lot of different proof of identification. I asked him why he would not try BTC instead. He told me he is not that aware of BTC and he has difficulty finding where to get BTC. Needs arising from such inconveniences are a nice way to introduce someone about BTC. If only more people would discover how easy it is to have BTC and use it to their purpose, BTC would go a long way.

The best approach is not to tell people how Bitcoin will replace everything they do today, but how it can IMPROVE the way they do things. It's important to tell them how good it is to have a trustless decentralized system, as only such a design can avoid bank scams and/or possible debacles like the 2007 financial crisis.

I agree if you will they does people that still don't know about bitcoin yet about it replacing everything. It can be a threat to them.
It can compose fear to their hearts that will think them about it.

Really? there are some who explain that way? Well I think bitcoin won't replace everything. It will be just another option for us. And it's good that as time goes by and as technology advances, we are having more options.

yeah i have found out by experience that videos are much more effective than words.
i can just show a quick video explaining everything so quickly and easily instead of talking for half an hour an having trouble teaching them about bitcoin.

There are some who really think that way and might share it to other and misinterpret it. Wrong advertisement equals wrong opinion in bitcoin. It doesnt need to be told fast and can be explained daily if you see the person that is also trying its best to learn from it.

If you teach them in simple way then they will feel easy and also comfort level would be higher, just show them how to earn from signature campaign in beginning.

I would still wait a while before starting bitcoin conversations in real life. The fact that now bitcoin is accepted in Steam, might be very useful to start a conversation, with at least people that like playing videogames, because everyone uses steam to buy games so when they see the new payment option, you can start a conversation from there.

How to teach someone about dollar?  Grin
Same with bitcoin, if question is about how to teach somebody how to use bitcoin, the answer is - youtube, different forums or just experience. Nothing hard on this.
there are actually a variety of sources to do the teaching to someone. I myself try to get to know and learn about bitcoin from various sources on google blogs, websites, forums and so on. youtube may also be used as a source. but the problem is getting people interested to bitcoin ?

I think a lot of people interested in BTC because they have huge expectations on BTC, that BTC will have a future that is much better, besides the various features provided on BTC is also far more innovative than other currencies

If people are made well aware about bitcoin and shown benefits attached with it then it will surely motivate people to start using it and invest their money in it.

You can teach someone about bitcoin by showing them some videos about it. But it is the laziest way to teach someone. You did not actually teach them, you just showed them some educational video. The video taught them, not you.

So for me, teaching someone about bitcoin should be a one-on-one process and not should be done by someone else except you.You have to guide that person until he reach the level that you are on. Guide that person until you have almost the same knowledge about bitcoin. After that, you can let him explore the bitcoin world.

Although before you can do all of this, you have to make sure that he is really interested about bitcoin. Otherwise, don't waste time pushing him onto doing something he doesn't want to do.
Yes bitcoins has many different features like faster transactions, very less transaction fees and easy cross-border transactions.

When we come across a person in need of some specific advantage of bitcoin then it would be very much easier to explain them the convenient of bitcoin by showing it in real-time application.

I recently talked to some people and I noticed couple interesting things you want to say, that work the best:

1. Don't force people into using or buying bitcoin. Just tell them how good it is.
2. Say that there is huge possibility of large price spike in the future. Explain that Bitcoin was once worth $1 and now it is 1 BTC = almost $500.
3. Tell them that it is very easy to use BTC to buy things online: games, hardware, gift cards etc.
