Yes. That's why I mentioned that if he insisted to teach someone, then he should make a move of encouragement. Tell how BTC help him, why he enjoyed it, share some tricks and techniques on how to earn. As long as the intention is good and just want to help a friend or someone, then it's alright.

All the things that you know about bitcoin tell him/her. You don't need to hide everything and I think it will encourage him if he will hear that word "earn" . That with bitcoins you can earn crypto money that you can convert into real money.
But, practically we do not have time to explain all the things about bitcoin to any new people. We can elaborate some of the opportunities we can get from bitcoin and some of the advantages we can enjoy while using bitcoins systems. I guess these are somewhat enough to get anyone into bitcoins.
Yes within short period of time we need to give them hints about all the features and benefits of bitcoins ecosystem. With those hints, they will ask more questions so that we can easily convince them to adopt bitcoins.

Theres a great video by 99 Bitcoin on youtube that explains how bitcoin works in a short video. Very Helpful.

many videos on youtube explaining about bitcoin and bitcoin works, and video with animation that may be easy to be accepted by those who do not know about bitcoin. so many ways for us to explain.

yeah i have found out by experience that videos are much more effective than words.
i can just show a quick video explaining everything so quickly and easily instead of talking for half an hour an having trouble teaching them about bitcoin.

words can also be easier, for example when your friend describes bitcoin, because your friend can explain briefly, detailed and easy to understand. all depends on each person in capturing explanation.

As the title say, what is the proper way to teach someone about what is Bitcoin?
I think the only thing you have to say is that it's like a bank account. You are storing coins such as money on a online
bank account. The only thing you cant buy is in stores but there are many online stores where you can buy things
with a bitcoin paying method. Everyone knows what it does right now.

The best way to teach someone about bitcoin is to let them look at you when you are using bitcoin. This way you can teach them everything with detail and show them.
They have to see it before they can understand it.

Only how to use it will not serve the purpose, you need to show them how you are earning from it and that will attract them to into the world of bitcoin.

I think a video tutorial would be much better to explain them about bitcoin instead of showing when you use them.

set up a bitcoin wallet for them, preferably an easy one not something like bitcoin core. i think options like Coinbase is good for start from zero knowledge about bitcoin, or an SPV wallet like Electrum.
then either teach them how to buy bitcoin or give them some to teach how receiving works and they can send to learn the sending part also.
only if the person is interested in technical stuff i would explain things like how mining work, and things like that.
also some speculation about the price never hurts.

In addition, let them experience some aspects on their own; experience is indeed the best teacher. Do let them rely on you all the time; though if they can’t seem to find what they are looking for, assist them and make sure they understand so that if they encounter the same problem again, they will be able to tackle it on their own.

Make the experience of learning bitcoin seem exciting to them; though their various methods of earning bitcoin, I suggest you tell them all of them so that they can choose one they prefer. Also, allow them to learn at their own pace; if you want them to assist you in earning bitcoin give it some time and later you will both be earning bitcoin smoothly and enjoying it.

I was not taught like that. For my experience i was taught by my friend using his own experience and letting me see all his profit. That is one good boost for a starter. Let him see how good it is in you and share your experiences.

Well for me first you should explain how bitcoin works and how to have it and where you can hold it.. and teach him how to convert bitcoin in to real money.. if they see that bitcoin is money i think it would be interested..

Agreed. and after all that refer him to this bitcointalk forum. here he/she can learn everything about bitcoin. he can contribute bitcoin by buying selling it. and even he can earn money also by joining a good signature campaign. so this forum is first place to learn about bitcoin for a newbie.
But convincing one person to join this forum would be a challenging task in my view. Because no one can start earning bitcoins from this forum immediately. I tried to refer my friends to join this forum, but they simply refused with the reason of not having enough time on spending reading and replying posts.
Yes simply introducing this forum to a newbie will not working in my experience also. People are looking for easy task and reading contents had turned as a difficult task to them. Maybe some audio tutorials or YouTube kind of videos may help them to learn about bitcoins initially.

I really don't beleive that people who can't understand how to use bitcoin are exist, it's looks so funny. For this people no need any teachers, they are already lost.

Well you could show them some links or websites which have already been there for that use or you could tell them in a couple of steps
1. Get a wallet to store bitcoins
2. Start getting bitcoins with stuff such as gambling, dice, posting, surveys and much more
3. Continue until you want to cash out
yeah give tutorials directly from the beginning may be very makes it easier to be more clear in receiving all the information. I'm sure if you want to provide a complete tutorial that way everyone will be attracted to use bitcoin. a problem for many people is still difficult to find out about bitcoin

explain to people who want to explain that bitcoin is a reformer in conducting financial transactions. if they ask the excess bitcoin, try to explain that bitcoin provides convenience and speed for all of us.

Telling people that bitcoin provides convenience and fast transactions is not enough for them for those people who doesn't understand what bitcoin is.
You must need to be concise in explaining about it simple that it is a digital money and it has a real value of $.

WE should actually start by giving someone few coins so this newbie can try out how to buy using bitcoin, they way a newbie can experience how it works. if they be amazed that they've bought something out of that digital money, they might just be interested on earning bitcoin as well.

I think it can help them, but remember the sayings that, giving a man fish would help him survive for a day.
But teaching him how to get fish would help him survive for a life.

Lol, how the quote relatable with what the enhu said, he just want to have the guy(non bitcoin user) to take it a little start. He's not telling to give the coin and do not teach the person anymore. What he want is give him a coin to be able to do a boost start and when the guy start asking how to triple the coin he have, that's the time he can learn and at the same time earning. That's what people want right? Earning while learning.

Isn't it make you ignorant? because you don't "believe" means you already prove in yourself that there's no such thing as someone who doesn't discover it yet. But guess what? There's so many people who don't know what bitcoin is.. My grandmother don't know what is bitcoin even my parents.. Your generalizing things so hasty, that's why it makes you so illogical.

Your statement make me think this way.

"I really don't beleive that people who can't understand how universe behave exist, it's looks so funny."

Yet I am here who don't know how universe behave.  Grin

Yeah and we not its not easy to convince people who have never heard about bitcoin, and they will not agree at first stage but may be over a period of time they show interest.

Whenever I try to teach or recommend bitcoin to the people around me they start laughing and it really brings a sweet smile on my face hoping that  last laugh will be mine.
yeah I think it's reasonable because people will start laughing because they do not believe and do not believe in your say therefore it would be better if you tell the people around you with evidence that you got

Yes. With proof, we can convince anyone to listen to us for teaching them about bitcoins. In my opinion, bitcoin's growth itself a good evidence to attract them. Bitcoin has achieved some higher prices like $450 from the price of $0.0001. This will attract anyone.
Yes, proofs will talk about bitcoin themselves. With the proof you need not to convince anyone to join bitcoins ecosystem. Just showing them is more than enough.
Yes evidence are very much attractive to get into bitcoins payment and for saving bitcoins for longer time. Other than the growth of bitcoin price, we can show them how bitcoin eased cross-border transactions and how it is better than paypal or Western Union.

Yeah, just let them laugh to you because of bitcoin, soon they will recognize and going to start bitcoin. Don't be upset when they are laughing at you.
And you are right, the last laugh will yours.

What I do with my friends is try to introduce to them BTC slowly and at the pace in which they wouldn't be overwhelmed. Little by little, I try to impart to them knowledge and what little I know of bitcoin and what it has given me, since I myself is new to bitcoin and my technical knowledge about bitcoin is not yet at a level I'm comfortable sharing with others.
