As I have said with other topics that are fairly similar to this one, you're asking a biased demographic and chances are most are going to answer with "Bitcoin is better than gold for X and Y reasons". Which makes sense, in its own way, and Bitcoin is better than gold in a lot of aspects, but gold is also better than Bitcoin in some aspects too.

So let's say that bitcoin and gold are just the same so that no one will argue about this. But in reality, they have their own good reasons why we can use and enjoy them both. Advantages and disadvantages depending on how you are going to use them. But I think majority of the people here are choosing bitcoin rather than with gold.
It's obvious that people on this forum will prefer Bitcoin over Gold since it's a Bitcoin related forum, no surprise here.

But if you look at the mentality of the average Joe, then they will give the preference to Gold when they have the option to choose.

Gold is around for such a long time, it gives them a safe feeling as result of that, it's something you can physically hold in your hands, it can be a jewelry, and the list goes on.

Enough reasons as to why the average Joe will prefer Gold over Bitcoin.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

No I do not think that its way better than the bitcoin but they both have their good things so I do not think we can say something about it in the overall.
They also have their ups and downs too.
yeah both have their respective advantages, you can not make them fight and choose the best, because they are good and profitable investment

I agree with your post. But Bitcoin was never meant for the average Joe. It was created as a digital currency, mainly targeting the tech savvy population. Without an internet connection and a smartphone, it is impossible to transact Bitcoins. And that itself means that Bitcoin is not attractive for the vast majority of the world population.

Exactly and we cannot expect everyone to start using bitcoins especially people from poor countries who don't have any idea of latest technology and that makes bitcoin less popular.

I would say that investing and saving is a different matter mate, you cannot save money by buying gold with all your money, of course it is a risky thing you know? and surely you will have difficulty in storing all the gold that too right. saving money is to keep it in a safe place and can be used at any time ?

It is interesting to reflect on the fact that the better gold or bitcoin. You can bring a lot of peers whom evidence or other merits of gold and bitcoin. But as the apple plans that people in a few decades will cease to use paper money. And gold has always existed and will exist.

Yes it is something that may happen, but I think that paper money will still be used in the future in some respects. Because I think if the banknotes are not used anymore then the currency exchange rates each country will not be able in well control and maybe there will be a decrease or a problem of finance for all countries.

As much as I love bitcoin, the credibility of the gold will not lose ever. If you keep all your savings in gold it is real security.

That is undeniable.
But sometimes I fear that having that much wealth concentrated in such small pieces of metal is not that kind of "distributed" security I would want to have.
Securing this metal becomes part of your very security, …
Bad security means someone (robbers, government, etc..) can very easily take those pieces of metal away from you.

And then what?

that is the point. why do many of us like bitcoin? because no bank or government can take it away if you store it properly. and with gold it is more or less the same.
the robber part is the same for fiat, gold, bitcoin. if you depend on others to keep your valuables save, you are giving them the possibility to make a mistake or take advantage.
if you do it on your own, you are in control, but also responsible for mistakes you make. so do it right.

Gold is always an safer investment in terms of profits and also in security as if you keep them safe in your personal locker then no one can touch them and it can also give you good profits in long term as everyone is sure that gold will not simply disappear and same feeling doesn't comes for bitcoins.

Yes, it is a real security because almost everybody around the world know gold and it value but bitcoin just started in 2009 which is only 7 years ago but gold has been in existance for more than 2000 years ago. I think if bitcoin survive up to next 10  years only, it will get more value than gold for sure.

Gold requires big investment as you also need to safe guard your assets and that implies expenses, therefore never attempt to invest gold if you do not have all the means to do it and the resources required for the success of your investment.

No doubt about that gold has secured investment but the market for gold is going to be tough enough as there are a lot of competitors playing in the market.

So for me, I want to get involved more with bitcoin as what is happening with bitcoin the price is pumping and giving me more chance to get profit.

Good thing I bought some bitcoins at early age.

You are wrong... Gold and bitcoin are both good although you say that it will not last and of course as this world will not last forever. Think of it, as long as we are alive and this two are a good investments then we take the opportunity to invest and enjoy temporary profits in can give us.

For me bitcoin is still the best than any other coins in this earth first thing gold is really hard to find yes we can just find gold in the market and just easy buy it if we had money already in our hands but if we don't have then we are just looking it not like bitcoin it's realyl free to earn and you can really make profit by trading and gambling.
