I am looking forward to testing the full version of Brave browser. The concept looks really interesting and the feature of getting paid to see ads may work well or crash and burn and I am curious to see what will happen. Still the current version has a lot of way to go.
I too think that it will be kind of cool to earn money watching ads, but I'll wait and see how it works out first before getting my hopes up. Something like that seems like a good idea, but there is no guarantee that it will work properly, or if it will even be worth it.

They will require KYC though, so it might not be as exciting as it first sounded.

But i`m sure something will come out of it. The mere fact of popularizing bitcoin to the masses cannot be bad in any way.

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Guys I`m very excited about Bitsquare now. I just heard about it a few days ago literally, it was in the unknown for months yet it has been developed on.

Just imagine the possibilities with this: NO MORE MT GOX or CRYPTSY!!!

I think its the NR 1 most important project right now. Yes openbazar and the others are cool too, but I just feel a decentralized exchange is the real big deal here.

Imagine the liquidity it can add to cryptocurrencies.

Few updates:

  • Ethereum 0.7.2 is out!
  • New Openbazaar should come out in the next days, they have many new commits since last release
  • Only 4 days left until Bitsquare is out! It's very exciting!
  • Only 79 days left until block reward halving!
  • Brave Browser 0.9.2 is out!

Quite a good list of updates in the last week. Looks like all devs are very busy now! Good job!

I am very excited about the Block reward halving for obvious reasons and also the OpenBazaar project.

but I don't think including an altcoin (ethereum) among exciting bitcoin projects is a right, it has nothing to do with bitcoin even if it is exciting.

Of course it has, look at this: https://etherex.org/

You know how many exciting smart contracts can be done in ethereum? That can all help bitcoin.

For example decentralized applications based on bitcoin, softwares, or even offchains can be hosted there. Bitcoin can benefit the most from it.

Any smart contract that can be run in Ethereum can be run on top of Bitcoin via rootstock so that's a plus. Bitcoin made a conscious effort to not be Turing-complete no matter how exciting, but secondary protocols certainly can.

I haven't heard of Joystream before. That sounds cool. I dunno how Bitsquare are gonna keep a lid on scamminess but if they can then that's a super important one.

I like how everyone thinks Joystream is the most interesting.

Whereas I think Bitsquare is the most interesting. I mean c`mon, decentralized exchange. Arent you guys tired of exchange scammers and so called "hacks" that are most likely inside jobs...

Bitsquare had it coming for a long time, all that negative karma that exchange scammers have done, resulted in Bitsquare being created Smiley

I heard Brave's been under fire from large publishers, do they have a time table as to when they can release the Ad revenue sharing scheme?

UPDATES:

  • Bitsquare 0.4.6 Update

It seems like bitsquare is slowly getting adopted, there are now more than 70 transactions in it, it will take time until it takes off, but it is for the better of the entire crypto community.

We are tired of centralized scam exchanges!

UPDATES:

  • Openbazaar v1.1.5

Quote
The following significant changes have been made in this release:
○ you can now save and edit server configurations, and quickly switch your client between different servers.
○ the navigation menu has shortcuts for switching between saved server configurations.
○ you can now set a SMTP server in settings/advanced to send email messages when various events occur.
○ if a listing can't be shipped to you, it is marked with an icon in the Discover and Store views.
○ listings are marked whether they are a physical, digital, or service listing. This only applies to listings made since the server was updated with the code to show this data.
○ basic information about your transactions can be exported to CSV from the transactions page
○ follower data on your store page is now lazy loaded, which should dramatically improve performance for stores with many followers.
○ chats with unread messages are positioned at the top of your chat list
○ the local node is only started if the client is currently set to connect to it
○ the shortcuts were changed to avoid colliding with common system shortcut keys. The reload the app shortcut is now 'f', and refresh the current view is 'r'.
○ you can add and remove a user as a moderator for your store from their user page.
○ Bitcoin prices are now formatted according to the language of the user.
○ a bug in the link for a listing in the transaction modal was fixed.
○ you can no longer attempt to purchase your own listings (the final step in the purchase flow is not clickable)

...

Keep this thread going, RealBitcoin, it is very useful to those of us who do not have time to dig around in the further reaches of Bitcoinistan.  I like your reviews and comments, as they help us to see the relevance of the various projects to each.

I hope to see a review or two re Bitsquare.  I quite agree, a decentralized exchange might be a great thing.
