Not sure if this has been answered already.
The BTER and Novaexchange both appear to be on different block-chains.
Does anyone know which is correct?
Im not able to exchange TIPS using Novaexchange, but BTER works.
However, Novaexchange said they are on the correct chain, while BTER has not responded.
So, im not sure who is correct block chain.
Im mining with HASH-TO-COIN, and they seem to work with BTER and not with Novaexchange.

Help? Who am I suposto be using here?

BTER is on the old, original chain
NovaExchange is on a newer, forked chain

Sending from old wallet/blockchain to BTER works

Why is this wallet 228MB?

I guess that means that HASH-TO-COIN is also on the old blockchain, since they work with BTER.
Why is the "old" block chain still working?
And, is there any way to get back the 2+ M coin I sent from the exchange on the "new" block chain, or is that lost forever?

Both blockchains are available for download at CryptoChainer.com, current as of today 7/11/16.  The BTER blockchain, and the NovaExchange blockchain.  Both are confirmed working on the respective exchanges.  Do NOT send from one to the other, as your coins will likely be lost forever.  I suppose the community will ultimately decided which one is the "correct" one going forward.

It seems that bter.com isn't answering questions related to changeing blockchain to the newer one.

I will download the windows wallet today and test it, thanks for the release ironsniper :-)
If the wallet is, also for me, working fine, i will upload it to the website and change the download links.

I also lost 2 Million Tips because Cryptopia is on the old blockchain and they refuse to respond to my help ticket.  And I did mention the community here is willing to give them 60 Million Tips for their past losses.  Hopefully they are just waiting for a few more developments here before they change.

Wallet crashed.
Had to reboot entire computer lost losts of work I was doing.
Now lost all of the progress because could not reopen.  It is now syncing again from the beginning - 2 years 28 weeks .  Did anybody else have problems with it syncing or did it work ok.
    It seems okay now...just slow

Community forked tips,The new blockchains is correct,If you know what's happened  in last 2 month,You may know why Community forked tips. The attacker stop to attack old tips until we forked tips
Bter remain old blockchain,Because more mined tips in last 2 month,Need deposite and sell them

I lost 2M + TIPS by sending between the 2 exchanges.
I would suggest selling TIPS -> LTC then move LTC and then re-buy TIPS on the correct block-chain.

Why is this wallet 228MB?

I don't know why it is so large.  Maybe Ahmed could explain.

i have seen this before and the only thing i can think of is that the new source code is based off of feathercoin which is based of 0.9.x bitcoin source code which uses newer dependencies such as qt5 instead of qt4 etc and each time the wallet has been over 200mb

Makes sense but they shouldnt be included anyways but a seperate download if needed. But it is what it is.

when i say dependencies i mean the software needed to compile the wallet, boost, openssl, qt5 etc the included dll files have no bearing on the size of the exe itself

-reindex of empty wallet syncs up to today (current) no problem.

But, -reindex of wallet with a balance stops at block 1297300 (Tue Jun 28 11:11:51 2016) and refuses to sync past that time.

Ran it from day one twice, just to be sure... no go.

Running -rescan to see if that helps.
