So, it's the 25th now, anything happening with the swap or do I have the dates wrong?

Coinexchange.io recently changed their announcement from "swap on 30th Sep" to
Quote
The date of this is undecided and will be announced as soon as possible.

It seems they know something we don't.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Hi RJ,

Sorry - we sometimes get to Bitcointalk late as the other channels are so busy!

We are currently planning on DROPPING the new coin as opposed to swap. That is the agreed approach with Coinexchange and Altilly, we are still negotiating with the other exchanges. This is based on feedback & discussion with the community.

The airdrop is happening during October, precise dates to be confirmed as the exchanges are in the process of integrating the new CryptoNote based wallet.

The new coin is called Fedora Gold (FED ticker).  Same tech as developed all along these past few months, same ratio of old:new 50:1

Please keep an eye on the twitter for latest: http://twitter.com/FedoraTipscoin

Thanks!

Hi Robots,

Safest way to swap is to move mine from Gate to a private wallet in that case?

FedoraCoin (TIPS) will be completing a 50:1 airdrop. The date of this is undecided and will be announced as soon as possible. Is what Coinexchange says now !

The difficulty with an airdrop is that everyone on Gate will be screwed if they don't support it (in which case I really need to know!)

Typically, an airdrop is for all "shares" on a given blockchain.  Please clarify, will TIPS need to be on an exchange to be included in the airdrop for FEDORA GOLD?

Unfortunately ahmed has been gone since quite some time, I completely lost contact with him.

myc066, as I understand it now, our beloved and well-aged TIPS will stay what it is and the team around robotsoutofcontrol will make a distribution of the new FED coin to all who hold TIPS on a to be determined snapshot date. I suppose this will be based on private keys of the TIPS wallet, so it could be compared to the BTC/BCH fork.
As far as I understood, TIPS will stay tradeable and mineable as it is right now, maybe this could be confirmed by the FED team.

To me this sounds fair and sensible, I always said I do not want the original TIPS to disappear and stay what it is (excluding minor tweaks and security updates) and so far I don't see anything changing that.

I hope robotsoutofcontrol can clarify if the old TIPS will stay listed on Novaexchange and Coinexchange and FED will be listed addiitionally on these and maybe other exchanges and not in place of TIPS.

Cheers - psycodad

Hi Psycodad Smiley

Thanks for that. Discussions with exchanges are kind of complex & ongoing but we do have some updates:

Coinexchange will be airdropping Fed to Tips holders, ratio of Fed:Tips is 1:50
Altilly will be airdropping Fed to Tips holders, ratio of Fed:Tips is 1:50
Both of the airdrops are yet to confirm dates, but likely mid-October

Novaexchange will not be involved in the airdrop.  They have been very helpful in discussions to date, however they are just too busy to be part of it since they have a lot on their plate with their relaunch.

Gate has not advised us of their final position - we are in ongoing discussion with them. They are also very positive, but alas very busy.

Cheers,
Robots.
