Ethereum is a good investment option. But at the same time, it will be foolish to ignore the risks involved. These risks can be classified to two. The first one comes from the failure of the ICOs. The second is due to the competition from the other alts, especially ADA.

Exactly! Ethereum is really good for long term position and ethereum got lot of projects. I also started to accumulate ethereum since last year and I promised to my self I will hold it for long term, I will not use it anymore. I will just hoard it like for decade or more than 15 years.

They are funded for years, so they won't have to sell any of the foundation's ethereum. They could sell their personal stash but that's not related to foundation's money. I can feel you're starting to regret buying ETC as you can see it slowly being dumped.

I've seen a lot of posts positive and negative about Ethereum.

At the moment I am holding Bitcoins, but I have invested in some Ether as well.

Now I am wondering, what are legitimate concerns about Ether (except for IPO, as I've already read this in a lot of posts).

So can anyone bring real other issues to the table, to enlighten me (and maybe a lot of other readers?)

If you go with my advice Eth is the best altcoin after BTC and its price is getting ideal day by day, right now it's around 450 USD. If you are looking for something to hold on for long-term then I suggest Eth.

ETH value jumped too fast. Maybe it's a big pump and the dump will follow, or maybe it's legit, but even then the market has a good chance to adjust.
But I don't want you to miss the opportunity because of me being too scared

Ethereum is actually the best altcoin that you can put your money in at the moment. With so much adoption of the ethereum blockchain by the  big players in the finance and banking sector it is only a matter of time before there is mass adoption of the coin and this will lead to the prices of the coin skyrocetking

It is good altcoin, experts saying that it is blockchain v2.0 due its smart-contracts but this altcoin It is so centralized so it is not the classic cryptocurrency - because real cryptocurrency needs to be decentralized I think.

In terms of adoption ethereum is definitely the number 1, however even Vitalik Buterin himself has critiziced the several useless dapps and icos which are now 99% of it.

Ethereum Classic might have its ride soon considering it's currently sitting at only 3% of ethereum market cap.
