Hi everyone, I have a few questions regarding the XLM giveaway.
Firstly, I was wondering how can you participate in the giveaway if you have your BTC on an exchange that is supported? The website claims that: ¨If your bitcoins are located on any of the above exchanges there is no action for you to take. They will handle the process of automatically crediting your account with the appropriate amount of lumens.¨
Does that mean that EVERYONE who has BTC on a supported exchange will get their share of XLM, or will there be a process for participating in the giveaway?
Secondly, could one trade their altcoins into BTC just shortly before the giveaway in order to consequently receive a larger share of XLMs? Could we see a rise in BTC price compared to alts, if a lot of would be doing that? The interest for the giveaway is pretty big.
Thank you for your help and happy trading

Regarding the June 27 giveaway, has their been any clarification from the Stellar Foundation re P2SH bitcoin addresses, which are commonly used to implement multisignature?
I'm involved in a fund that uses a 2 of 3 multisignature address. Will we need 2 signatures for proof of ownership to claim Lumens? Signatures from all 3 private keys? Or do we need to move to an old fashioned bitcion address starting with "1" where there's only one key pair before June 26?

How will it work?
We'll give away the 19 billion lumens in several rounds. The first round will consist of 3 billion lumens. Read about the full details here.
Hope to see you on July 5th! I did not understand. 1 lumen is 1 STR? Where will lumens go? To what address?

I believe Stellar (STR) used to be the coin, but they changed the name to Lumens (XLM), and now "Stellar" is just the network. Some exchanges like Polo are still using the name Stellar or STR though. So in that respect you are correct that 1 Lumen = 1 STR.

I would love to know this too. Who could know the answer? If you think about it, you will need to confirm that you are the owner of the account BTC, and it is not possible, the owner of the accounts poloniex ... it turns out that the applicant is only a stock exchange.

Poloniex will claim of course but then they will credit the respective amounts on their users' accounts Whether they have any rules regarding btc being on lending or locked in orders is entirly up to Poloniex admins. Nobody else could know unless they ahe already stated their intentions. The logical thing is that it should not matter, unless they would like to see reduced traffic on the day of the stellar snapshot

I would love to know this too. Who could know the answer? well, nobody but Poloniex knows for sure, but according to the past experience (ETC distribution to ETH balance holders) the exchange official position is not to credit the lent amounts of coins, so it's better to keep them available in the wallet, without any loans or orders attached

keep them available in the wallet
by wallet you mean in Poloniex "wallet"? yes, as we discussed Poloniex "airdrop" policy they said after the coins were lent they are not yours, so you have no rights to claim anything for those coins (except the return
