The goal of Rise at this stage is to independently expand on the Lisk platform. To begin with we will use their base code but over time will patch in our own with the main goals of offering a secure, comprehensive and easy to use application and commerce platform.

The plan is to update to the latest version of Node.. from v0.12.9 (currently used in Lisk) to versions 4 or 5. In order to get testnet and start the project sooner rather than later, we'll be keeping the base binary compatible with Lisk, that'll also mean we can incorporate their patches during the early days so we have a good start... For the testnet, and there is still a considerable amount of work to be done, it should next week along with public github.
