I use about 20% as a currency and for daily coffee and lunch and the rest is in cold storage as a investment. I think many people follow the same strategy, because nobody wants to be left out in the

cold, when the price hits say, $10 000 per Bitcoin. Over time, this might change when more merchants and services accept it as a payment option and the temptation to spend it, will increase. I also

think people like the idea that the value of their wealth might double or triple over time, and that is one more reason for them to hold onto it for longer periods.  Roll Eyes

I personally think that Bitcoin is a combination of both currency and investment, but the value is primarily given to it because of speculation.

I think using Bitcoin as an investment isn't a bad idea, but at the same time it is quite volatile and only useful for the most confident of investors.

At this moment I am still using my bitcoins as an investment because I have not found a suitable way to spend or exchange my bitcoins, but I am trying to increase my amount of bitcoin to store just a part on them, and actively spend the other part.

I use the bitcoin as a investment because its profitable and its the future of the currency's for sure.
It has so many advantages and I sometimes use it as a currency to pay things but this happens not often.

Nowadays, bitcoin in my place cannot be paid in establishments. I can't use it a currency like a variant for fiat. Cry

I'm pretty sure some country allows their people to pay their bills in bitcoin but in my country they do not allow that. I once exchanged some of my bitcoins to Paypal funds, and then bought myself a USB Flash Drive and a bluetooth earphones.

But that doesn't mean I'm using bitcoin as a currency. People in my country aren't using bitcoin so I bet I won't be using bitcoin too as a currency in the near future.

I'm using bitcoin as an investment as I am waiting for the bitcoin's price to sky rocket. They believe it will happen in June. While I'm still earning some money from Signature Ad campaign, I will not spend it to buy anything from the internet (grocery, gadgets, top-up my phone). I will simply save it to stand as an investment for me.

I'm also paying some bills with it, for the most part hosting bills to be honest, I use the bitcoin for both investing and as a currency.
I think using them both is good because I'm holding but also spending some.

Bitcoin for me, as of the moment, is mainly for investment purposes. I've only got a few and still on the process of accumulating. From where I live, merchants accepting BTC are somewhat small in number right now, so the its function as currency still has very limited use. If more people adopts BTC, I'm sure there will be more merchants accepting it as payment.

I use it only for investment. I fear to spend btc for some unimportant stuff cause it may rise suddenly at any time. I do not want to tear off the hair from my bum after it happens  Grin

I used them as my currency and investment. Well, once I use it as my investment then it will follow that it is my currency use. I use them both because they are very convenient to use.

I also use them both. Bitcoin is a good investment for everybody. I use it as a currency when buying something online but just for digital goods only and to top up my mobile. Maybe if there are already many merchant accepts bitcoin here i can use it.
