If you count gambling and playing poker with bitcoin as using it as currency, then both. I don't sell any of the bitcoins I get, I just keep buying when I can and however I accumulate them I justs hodls them. If I want to spend, I just use fiat.

True you can use Bitcoin to invest to an investment site but you must be careful though.  Lots of investment sites are labeled either PONZI of HYIP which instead of having an opportunity for your BTC to increase, might be in a situation where it can be gone like vapor.  And trading BTC / altcoin isnt easy too.  You need to research and learn the movement of whales towards the coin you are holding.

We can treat bitcoin in both ways, if you need money badly then use it as a currency and not then hold it for future to earn best returns from it.

There are various roles and depend upon the situation and businesses it varies. The best part is that you can get it quickly and transfer to anybody instant. But stability of price and its durability in future is still unknown as different countries have different policy world wide for cyptocurrency.

Using bitcoins as investment or currency depends on the circumstances. Initially bitcoins are more of a investment than currency. But once bitcoin reaches a stable value, people will start using it as a currency. IMO, in future, we need not to differentiate bitcoin from fiats as bitcoin will be more useful than fiats. So, finally bitcoin will turn as currency for every bitcoiner.

And as i used it for a longer time there are so many shop accepting bitcoin so i also used it as a payment, so in other words i used it for currency and as investment

That is right. If you just use BTC, you are increasing bitcoin adoption and its value.
The value of coins that you have set aside as an investment will rise as well.

I think it's main purpose is for use as a currency and so far, that's the best use I've come up with.  The nice thing about using BTC as currency is that quite a few places offer a discount for using it.  It has many advantages in an online world.  I don't think it's a replacement currency though and wouldn't use it for all purchases all the time.

I'd love to treat BTC as an investment but the market is still relatively new and the price is highly volatile -- the "true value" is anybody's guess.  Major price fluctuations are the main reason I don't see it as a typical buy-and-hold investment, but there's a lot of fun with short-term trades.

Investment or currency, at least BTC is being used and the use seems to be growing which should make all of us happy.

Me too. If I am in need of money, I exchange the BTC to my currency and use it. Now I am saving BTC to get profit after the halving. I am planning invest some BTC to buy more BTC to get more profit.

I also use bitcoin for an investment, because i heard many speculation that say the price of bitcoin will increase so high because the halving and i invest around 3 bitcoins, the result is quite good for now.

if i were you i would definitely not invest any bitcoins i have to be honest because in my opinion if you will put your money into a ponzi scam you will definitely lose everything you have
