I have no working desktop wallet.
 I have tried everything I know of to get it working. It is 73 weeks out of sinc.

 I have put in some nodes and it takes them and others it does not. I have deleted the total wallet from my computer and downloaded a new one [ I thought] only to get the old one back. Is there a way to get a brand new desktop wallet and start from scratch.

Or maybe someone hear knows how to restart the desktop wallet i have. I am useing the online wallet and never had a problem with it.
 The reason I would like to get my desktop wallet working is that i would like to mine with it.
It was working back in 2014.

Any help would be appreciated.

They say "Blockchain broken.".

I guess it has to do with the insanely low 8 block to maturity. At 60s blocktime this just asks for unintentional doublespends when short forks happen.

It's really dead. Some people are trying to promote VTA to sell VTA for newbies. DEV did not have any plans to correct the network.

Like most in this community, neither I would have never thought this coin can fall so low. Why? Because being a newbie, I didn't know what obstacles might arise in its way. If I knew, maybe I would have been more cautious.
For a specialist, there is no surprise. In the crypto world, there may be a multitude of undesirable events that can harm or help a currency. For a newbie, it's the apocalypse, because he doesn't know what to expect, he trusted and invested, and when a syncope occurs, he's deeply disappointed.
Why bitcoin has become increasingly brighter? Because most experts turned their attention to it, all bright-minds were attracted to its potential. The difference between bitcoin and virtacoin is not on the quality of the concept, but the quality of the people involved. I watched the bitcoin forums lately and I see a huge difference, they speaks a different language, language of specialists, for each of them anything other than bitcoin does not exist and is called shitcoin. They are talking about mining activity, codes, softwares, while virtacoiners are sitting and waiting...
When some of them will turn their attention to virtacoin, only then virtacoin will prosper. Until then, the apocalypse, because most of you are newbies and worry about anything. Everyone here expects someone to do something, but nobody tries to do it. Why? Simple, most of you are newbies and don't know what to do, there is a will, but there is no possibilities. Virtacoin doesn't have a coordinating council, a solid group of experts to lead a team, everything is based solely on the ability of individual persons to do something.
In fact, sometimes I wonder if there is at least a will...
For bitcoin was easy, because there was no such a concept on the market, now the market is full and is very hard to impose.
My advice is this: no longer complain of amounts you feel that you no longer own. Nobody will steal a penny! If you're able of patience and hope - it's okay, if you're not... think that the apocalypse has come.

With this the coin in circulation will move down and our coin name will be new and all the bad names we have in virtacoin will be removed. With this, it mains any virtacoin you have now is what you will still get in 1000 to 1 coin With this I believe our coin will move forward with the project we have developed so far. I'm strongly with you Abledigital, yes rebranding is what Virtacoin needs now, since we can't reach developers of Virtacoin. in C-CEX says Virtacoin blockchain has broken! who will fix it?Virtacoin creator is no where to be found and it not help issues, even if satoshi was anonymous before now, he was always available to help in the development of bitcoin Virtacoin creator is the biggest fool I can ever think of. how can a man be watching his house to be carried away by flood and he is at the corner watching all of this without doing anything? Rebranding is the alone thing that can save of us all now.But I have some question Able, for how long will it take to do the rebranding and how's is going to do the rebranding for the people?what about those that have invested on kiva, what is going to be their faith?thanks...... xxxsamxx

Important Information

As many of you are probably aware, there have been some problems recently associated with the virtacoin blockchain that processes transactions.

All exchanges have suspended trading of VTA. There is also a large project under development that intended to use Virtacoin as it's currency.

However the developer recently determined that there is a flaw in the Virtacoin core program that is causing the transaction problems and no one has been able to locate the original developer to correct the problem.

The project manager has proposed a plan to create a new coin that would be "swapped", or traded for the current Virtacoin.
