Once the new wallets (mobile especially) are ready we're going start our marketing campaign.  If anyone has any creative marketing ideas I'd love to hear them.  One of my ideas is to get a load of "Britcoin accepted here" stickers made and then get a few local merchants to accept Brit as a method of payment, then get in touch with local media outlets and try and get some coverage for the project.

I'd be more than happy to have some CoinFest scratch cards at the CoinFestUK, they went down very well with a lot of positive feedback at the last event! We have several hundred given away. It would be best to work with retailers who already accept Bitcoin as half the challenge is already complete but I like your ideas.

In the long term I'm hoping new marketing campaigns (and much more) can be funded directly from the Britcoin blockchain via a 2nd tier network, where new ideas are proposed and get voted on and funded based on how much support it has.  As long as people are willing to work for Britcoin I think it will work. Smiley

Sounds like an awesome idea! Keep us posted

Hi mate, sorry for taking so long to get back..  That time of year! Smiley

I love the scratchcard idea, great way to get people to download the wallet/s and getting used to Britcoin etc.  I'll have a chat with everyone else in the new year about it and take it from there. Smiley

All the best!

Thanks I did. Hope you had a good xmas and NYE too.

That's good. Don't rush with it. Better to have it working and looking nice and with little to no bugs and typos than have it launched sooner with mistakes and stuff.

Yeah I will be on IRC soon. Thanks.

Good to hear.  I totally agree with the need to launch looking right and with perfect copy etc.  I'm going to be going to France for a few weeks later this month where I can get a lot of dev work done, in isolation.  Will make sure the new official website is my top priority while there. Smiley

And I live in a shared house in case any burglars are reading this lol Cheesy

Hi Peter,

Yea everything is coming along, as you can imagine these things take a lot of hours locked away in a dark room to get done.  The new official website (britcoin.com) is coming along, hoping to get a decent amount of work on it done the next 2 weeks while I'm in France.

Along with the new website we're making good progress on the new desktop (electrum) and mobile wallets, mogreen is coding and testing away to get them released asap.  We're also hoping to get britpaper.org (paper wallet generator) and britcointalk.org (forums) online in the next week or two, before the launch of the new official website. Smiley

My apologies for not updating this thread recently, we're all in code mode right now but I'll make sure to update here whenever there's something happening.

Steve Sokolovski is a sissy, he pays elderly woman for compiling explorers for him. What a disgrace for the community. I will probably sign in to his reddit account and grab the IPs, thus getting him into a trouble as he doesnt know who I am, he will spend a lot of time guessing who was the guy that DOXED him.

BRIT was my first real big rent-mining win so I've always got a soft spot for it.

Unfortunately, it is marked for delisting from C-Cex, which means it will be without a marketplace to trade at.

I'll do what I can to get it listed elsewhere...

Thanks for your support  Smiley  We already have another market at https://www.coinexchange.io/market/BRIT/BTC

I'm not sure whether we will try to stay on C-Cex or not.  Please assume that we won't.  (It's never a good idea to keep money in a place where it'll be removed in 2 weeks.)  I'm surprised that they announced delistings in a month when they've had so many problems with their site and keeping wallets up.

Hi mate, glad to see you're still around! Smiley

Yea I just saw the delisting warning from C-Cex, not great news but not the end of the world either.  As I remember Ethereum was delisted recently because of lack of volume, strange right.

The good news is we have a budget available for getting listed on a better exchange.  I was planning on organizing it for sometime next month (torn between Bittrex and Livecoin) as I wanted the new official website (+ a few other services) online before trading began, was worried we'd open trading and get 0 volume etc.

Getting listed on bittrex/livecoin will cost us 2-3 BTC, luckily our investors will cover this as part of our initial 6 month funding.  Once Brit is trading on one of these I can add Britcoin to Cryptomate so we have a GBP/BRIT market as well. Smiley

C-CEX delisted their ETH Markets not the actual coin against BTC as far as I remember.

Anyway just popping my head round to say I'm still here too and excited for future. With Brexit there's a real opportunity for press coverage and traction, being on a good exchange now seems like a good idea to me!

Cheers!

Dear Britcoin Team

Over the last few years I have tried to contribute to the world of cryptocurrency with ideas and tried to help others, in doing so I have hurt the feelings of good people. Many of the posts were made in haste and without forethought not only causing suffering for good people here, but also people who may have read, or been insulted by them.

I am genuinely very sorry for any pain or suffering I have caused, I just wanted to help, I am sorry.

Regards

Nick
