I'm using a free opensource antivirus which I've learned from a linux community. name is clamwin, thi isn't very sophisticated but sure it has updated list of viruses that are determined that they can remove from the computer being treated. i like it since it don't treat the exe file as viruses.
I'm using Local Antivirus, they called Smadav
Added to the poll.

I'm using AVG for 2 years now. So far I have no problems because it detects the viruses and malwares.

You're scared of what? Kaspersky is one of the best antivirus, as long as it's updated you have nothing to worry about.

I'm using AVG antivirus. It works very smooth and no issues from over 3 months. Its a well-known antivirus in my locality.

Windows Defender/ Microsoft Security Essentials.
They are decent for free. I'm always very careful that my system is updated, and I don't click any suspicious links/ files.
Unfortunately, a lot of the free Antivirus have become so intrusive. They look at your web traffic/ mail, and some go as far as to man-in-the-middle your https connections. Of course they do it in the name of "security". But I've stopped using Avast because of this reason.
Some of the paid services like ESET or Kaspersky are decent. Every time I have to deal with changing a setting in Symantech I get annoyed because it takes over control of the Windows firewall and things like that.
