Ten years, cool I have been using Eset since 1998, it was called NOD32 back then.
But many computers have passed away since then  Grin
You can check this for comparison on other AV products  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_antivirus_software

And its gone.

No matter what antivirus program you use, you should not rely solely on it. Measures in computer security must be comprehensive.

You guys know that antivirus software is pretty much non effective don't you?  Don't get a sense of false security by having something on your system that wont protect you from the latest/newest threats.  Look at this diagram:

Source: (https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/google-automatic-software-updates-213336930.html)

Notice that Security Experts do not even recommend antivirus software.  It is all the Non Experts who mistakenly recommend getting antivirus software.  Antivirus software is Snake Oil.  Hell, even Symantec declared AV software dead 2 years ago. (http://www.pcworld.com/article/2150743/antivirus-is-dead-says-maker-of-norton-antivirus.html

I will tell you this....I have as much valuable information as anyone on my PC and I do not have ANY (3rd party) antivirus software on my system.  I take precautions and use common sense.  I also follow everything on the RIGHT side of the above chart.  Don't be fooled by thinking these AV products will protect you.

Antivirus might not stop very sophisticated/ targeted attacks, but at least its going to stop the majority of drive-by downloads, spam mailing campaigns etc.
I would suggest most people have some kind of antivirus.
That way at least they dont click on some link or forget to update flash player and automatically get malware on their computer.
If you know a lot about computers of course you can be fine without it, but most people aren't going to spend the time to configure all these things, use 2FA etc.

I have mcafee since its been free after purchasing my laptop I like the way it is protecting my computer giving always a warning and giving details from time to time. Protection wise mcaffee also have very good features and not giving problem behind.
