We need to achieve a huge adoption before we can be considered as a strong currency and when that happens the government cannot do any bad thing with a huge volume of supporters because we will beat them for sure.

As of jan 2016 there are 100m users of bitcoin and is already a strong crypto currency.

i don't see any reason why gov. would do anything about bitcoin, and what do you mean
we will beat them even with (lets say) 70% of population is using bitcoin fiat money will still
win. bitcoin is better of being an alternate currency than being the main one.

Where did you get this 100m statistic? It can't possibly be right. There's no way there is 100 million people using bitcoin.

http://www.coindesk.com/2016-bitcoin-challenge-100-million-users/

This article in no way supports the notion that bitcoin has 100 million users. It cites an estimate that there are only 10 million wallets. That's a 10:1 overestimation on number of users, and that's only if every user has only one wallet and every wallet created is actively used. Both of those are unlikely. Based on that, I'd put the estimation at 4-5 million people using bitcoin.

yes there is no doubt about this bitcoin is really going to be an international currency. different countries are now thinking about it to regularize it and turn it legalize. i think after no one can stop bitcoin from becoming an international currency.

In a way bitcoin already is a international currency. Many large forex sites allow you to invest in bitcoin.
Next to Yen, USD, EURO etc. Which means they are treating bitcoin the same way as large and established currencies.

That's good to hear then, I just hope that the stability of bitcoin economy will continue to progress as I have also invested a little amount to bet on my prediction for this coin. Of the currency you have mentioned bitcoin has the great potential because it is not controlled by the government

I agree and actually with lots of people supporting it, it is already an unannounced international currency.  If you visit several countries, many of the have sites that process bitcoin convertion and other have local people trading it.  And that is the reason why some government is thinking of regulating bitcoin.

It is true that bitcoin is actually acting like an international currency but it wasn't been recognized by the government to make it official.  It is used by people every where in the world.  With this I think government is now studying bitcoin and its effect to ea country if they  recognized it as currency.

This is completely true, when so many people from diffrenet countries and corners around the world use it, we can actualy consider it to be international. But the lack of international regulations will be stil present for a long time and not all countries will recognaize it as a currency. This strugle is yet to come.

The government will never recognize bitcoin as it is anonymous, the government wants to watch us transact online to prevent crime and the laundering of money, actually there are other altcoins who could help the KYC and they are just a tool to bridge the faster transaction using the KYC.

I'm not sure where is the problem.. (sorry i didn't read whole thread).

Bitcoin IS international currency! Discussion about that is just stupid or can just show how low is your awareness about this technology.

Best way to see bitcoin hight and popular is wait, i think that bitcoin can become international currency but we need to force one country to accept it as legal Grin

Bitcoin is already an international currency as it is used worldwide but the problem is that it is not openly accepted in most countries and also very few people know about this digital currency.
Bitcoin will take time until it is accepted everywhere and used by every person.

For online dealers bitcoin has been an international currency for years. Easy to use and cheap fees made it excellent tool for online deal.

So expect that in the future.. more companies will accept bitcoin.

No need in waiting. Bitcoin is international currency already. Look how many people from over the world making bitcoin, using it, trading, investing, selling, buying and even stealing. We are all here and it proves that. But governments do not accept bitcoin yet, but that is just the question of the time.

Bitcoin has reached to almost all countries but it cannot be considered as an international currency as its usage is not as per the expectations and very few people are aware about it and using it.
