Im just amazed at how many of these projects get funded to the tune of millikns of dollars each.  Sure it might pan out, but for how little tech is actually getting developed i dont believe they are worth it.

Ethereum is IPO coin, but it is also PoW. I hope PoW can last 5 more years to dilute the IPO coins.

Exactly...the amount of sock puppets turning up in time to support their latest fav ipo is very telling.

I'm not 100% against IPO or ICO (although I think POW is much fairer and far harder to manipulate) but many are scams and there needs to really be some guidelines for running ico on here they should stick to.

At the minimum all ICO should have 50% POW phase and a long long broad advertising phase.


Any method of distribution is fine if it is transparent and fair. ICO is too easy on here to game and manipulate at this time. Fair launch POW needs to return.

I would also suggest all ICO funds held by escrows and released only to the devs for promised milestones reached. Look at this "gemz" project. I started following it after someone told me about it . This kind of bullshit needs to be stopped and those running such scams need to be put in jail like any other fraudsters.

The problem is that people are jumping onto any IPO/ICO they can because they want to make a quick profit, money will be lost, people will get mad, ICOs are the new form of scam.
