Anyway, already got my BELA refund from the Legendary escrow SebastianJu (thanks). This ICO is a win-win for the early investors. Even though investment is refunded by dev, ICO tokens & bounties are still distributed. So keep up the good work Isolani. ChessCoin can still grow & go to the moon!

Let's just say there was somewhat shady behavior going on once the dev said he sold some of his coin to a third party/yobit trading+ bela exchange rate changed. If you connect the dots, you can see how the exchange rate change benefited whomever was trading on yobit.

It could have been worse, but then again, it doesn't benefit the dev to drive the price of the coin into the ground completely, as he still has an awful lot of coin. So that's the only plus I can tell those who are sitting on a lot of higher priced chesscoin -- it's to the devs advantage to get the price up somehow, so he can sell his own coins. This voting thing will only do so much, he'll need to release some wallets/android chess app, or something...or simply pump the coin using his btc. Whether he can do that, or decides to take just whatever he can... that is another matter.

That's possible, except for that bela rate change thing and the timing of it -- it's a red flag, as it benefited whomever was selling on yobit. Doesn't rule out the dev being scammed as well, however.

I find both c-cex and yobit annoying ... it took me like a half a dozen tries to even register for a yobit account, the captcha was acting weird for me.

Yes and no. You chose to buy off of yobit, which is a known pump/dump exchange, so you must have been aware of the risk involved.

The fact that the coin was available on yobit for trading before the ICO was over, and in the volume it was PLUS the switch in exchange value in bela (which removed the advantage of buying coins via the ICO) should have been giant red flags screaming: "Okay, something is wrong here".

The wording by the dev was a red flag: sold coins to a 'secret man'. Secret man? Like some guy skulking around the corner in a dark alley, going "Pss... can you sell me some chesscoin?"

It never really added up. Now if it was a teensy bit of coin he sold, which it looked like originally, .1 btc or less daily yobit volume, we could let it slide, figure it was odd, but okay, nothing too terrible. Later on when we were seeing much higher volumes, it was a sign to just stay away -- unless you were willing to take the risk.
So I wouldn't completely blame the dev if you bought off of yobit, as the warning signs were there.

And I guess you might as well hold at this point, hope for a spike if the coin makes it to ccex, and just cash out then for whatever you can get.
