Because those countries all do not accept Bitcoin is legally, they just see Bitcoin as stock or speculative asset without the management of the government.

He did not mention any countries, so we do not know to what countries he was referring also even if bitcoin has not been recognized as a currency in the US we know it is considered as an asset and that is not illegal to use it, personally I think he may be referring to countries like Venezuela in which bitcoin mining is forbidden by the law and that put people in jail just because they were mining some bitcoin.

Other cryptocurrencies are and will be far technologically superior to BTC. Of course, the value of something is whatever another person is willing to pay, but I don't see any more meteoric rises for BTC. It just doesn't make sense logically when the competition is so much more advanced.
