Hi I wonder about the demographics of bitcoin. Who uses it, race, location, gender?
I read the coindesk paper on it, but wonder if there is some other more updated documentation on it.

From an article here http://insidebitcoins.com/news/who-uses-bitcoin-the-answer-may-surprise-you/24901 in the survey had participated 1,200 people and the average age is 33 years old. I think that the average age should be less because lots of teenegers use it but we should not exclude also the olders which use bitcoin for long term. Geographically I think that bitcoin is more popular in Asia (China leading ), in US and then in Europe |

Well, it's good question really.
In my country, it seems no so many people use Bitcoin.
From my experience, mostly very young people, students, male, from the big cities, use Bitcoin.
It seems that older generation is afraid even to use Internet banking or to pay something online, so I don't think they will accept Bitcoin.

Bitcoin will be a awesome option for the people who want to transfer assets overseas, wash money or evade tax.
In China, there's some people who used Bitcoin to purchase a foreign house.

Generally, Chinese and far east people use bitcoin. On the other hand, people who want to transfer money illegally to Europe and Usa , use bitcoin too.

Based on the survey they're created last year as we can see there are lot's of user's from different country who truly uses bitcoin for there daily living hense some country are not included because of the (BANNED BITCOIN) if you see the image and you will see how many percent really uses bitcoin nowadays.  |

Seen few surveys with questions almost answering these, however none of there results were published as far as I know, one was offering BTC incentives as well for users, Getting this data is important but not many researchers or BTC sites are that interested in it.

No. Almost every country has bitcoin adopter. 95% of bitcoin users are using it for the legal purposes. Basically, those who are all aware of bitcoin more specifically who understand the advantages of bitcoins use bitcoins. Among bitcoin users 95% people are using it for investment purposes, only 5% got opportunities to use it for their daily needs due to high bitcoin adoption rate in their region by merchants/service providers. |

In bitcoin we don't care about location, race or gender we just care about bitcoin address and amount.
You are right, because I too believe that there are only a few females that use bitcoin and china is almost making the most in the world of bitcoin. But I can say that bitcoin transactions are mostly carried out by the residents of USA, but in terms of mining China takes the lead. |

You are right, because I too believe that there are only a few females that use bitcoin and china is almost making the most in the world of bitcoin. But I can say that bitcoin transactions are mostly carried out by the residents of USA, but in terms of mining China takes the lead. We cannot be sure that only Americans and Chinese are the only people who are using bitcoins, the fact is people who are aware about the bitcoins are earning it and using it and they can be from any part of the world as bitcoin has started to reach everywhere now so many people from different countries are using it. |

From this infographic I can say that are not the real statistics because it shows that bitcoin in Asia is 9.36% popular which I think only in china the percentage should be greater. Why U.S is leading is because of the startups and those services that offer bitcoin payment method, the same applies to Europe and for other continents I think it is being used only by individuals. |

I think whoever you are and when you store or use bitcoin bitcoin for any purpose whatsoever, you are bitcoin user, do not need a lot of requirements to be user bitcoin Online selling uses bit coin as their mode of payment collected from those having BTC wallet. They are using it for their convenience and of any purposed which be used for online payment transaction. It does not require more effort to use bitcoin all you need is to sign up for an account for bitcoin and you can do more transactions if it is needed. |

All kind of people use Bitcoin. In general I think majority of them are younger generations who like new technologies and adopt them fast. And Bitcoin users are spread all around the world, on the east and the west. Some of them are just ordinary people who saw the new opportunity in using Bitcoin and some are professionals with serious business.

There is no segregation of race among the bitcoin users. Grown country people have known much about the bitcoin as well other digital currency existence. Soon due to the increasing adoption bitcoin will be known by almost 25% of the world population. Right now male users were much compared to the female users.

As of know there is no way to determine this but there are some survey's that you can see around the internet however their credibility is unknown so I don't know if it's reliable or not. Well I also hope that there will be a information like this cause it will be useful for merchants and for people who plans to open a bitcoin related business. |

Well I also hope that there will be a information like this cause it will be useful for merchants and for people who plans to open a bitcoin related business. It is true that we cannot find the real users of bitcoin, if that can be found then really it will be usefull for merchants but then the bitcoin technology main fundamental of decentralized unknown entries will go away and its popularity will also go away as most of them are using bitcoin for gambling and other uses which they dont want to get known by any means. |

Yes You are right, nobody know who realy use bitcoin, but That data will give know to us what the Top region who the people use bitcoin. I think The people who use bitcoin is looking for practicaly in a transaction and avoid bank system. The know that so many advantage of using bitcoin, they also looking for low fee transaction. This reason is why I use bitcoin, Lower fee than bank, make bitcoin seem better than fiat. So I like bitcoin. |

We don't have sure about who uses Bitcoins, but we can suppose. As Bitcoin is a technological new virtual currency we can imagine that it's being used more for young adult persons and teenagers. And I believe it's being more used by men, as we see here on forum and on social media groups.
So, who is wanting to create a new business relationed to Bitcoins can focus on this category.
