Considering the recent development and the obvious potential, I feel very comfortable with LEOcoin. Fact is, that with the STAKING we are in a way partly protected against price volatility. With 50K LEO and more in balance on the wallet, the coins stake with 20%. So when the price drops we on the other hand gain more coins by staking. So imagine, the price one day really goes up like for example ETHER (10$) and you have 50.000 LEO balance, so the yearly staking would be 10.000 LEO x 10$ =100.000 $…and yes, I think this is not a dream. And even, if we consider the price only at 1$, still the profit from staking would be 10.000$ p.a… So, what's the story: for me it is something obvious, that makes the LEO story strong comparing to other coins, which don't offer that possibility.

I am happy to see, that a lot of positive initiative is happening around LEOcoin development in terms of PR and ECO SYSTEM development.
For all, who are in any doubt, I think for LEOcoin the future is bright….let's focus on the best…:)))

I wholeheartedly agree that having a picture with Bill Clinton does not add value to a coin, not even to the US dollar. To me it looks like this particular picture was taken before the creation of LEOcoin (just look at Bill's face) so your assumption seems a bit far-fetched, just as your choice of words like 'they are pushing' (who is they?), 'shills', 'over exaggeration' or 'spamming' show a non-neutral assessment. But perhaps the nature of digital currencies brings with it, that there are not 50 shades of grey, but only black-white versions of blatant truth ...

LF: Mihir, thank you for this exclusive interview that we shall use to inform those who are interested in LEOcoin.

MM: it’s my pleasure.



LF: You first started with LEO Ltd. and then also joined the LEOcoin Foundation. Does this not feel like sitting on two chairs and how do you deal with that?

MM: LEO and the LEOcoin Foundation are separate organisations. The LEOcoin Foundation is a Community Interest Company, registered in the UK with a primary mission to promote a global digital currency economy.

LEO on the other hand is a proud direct selling company focusing on education and entrepreneurship. The work that I do for and with members of LEO focuses on these areas, whereas the work for the LEOcoin Foundation is much more about building a world that accepts and is familiar with LEOcoin and other digital currencies.

I’ll give a brief example, when I’m working on LEO related issues, I am seeking to help support small business entrepreneurs and promote e-learning and education with anyone who is familiar or who has yet to hear about LEO. When I work on issues impacting the LEOcoin Foundation, I focus exclusively on digital currency and blockchain technology. This involves things like working with Governments and journalists to help inform them about this global revolution, participating in trade associations and working with regulators to make sure that they help support this young and exciting industry.

The roles are certainly busy, but they don’t conflict. Obviously the LEOcoin Foundation would not have existed without the initial support of LEO and while the Foundation will always have a debt of gratitude to LEO, the two organisations are on different journeys with different objectives.


 
LF: LEOxChange launched in April 2015. Can you tell us something about the story that followed and about any new developments?

MM: So, the LEOxChange was launched in April 2015, and was the second digital currency exchange in the world to accept LEOcoin. This was a new venture for us (LEO Ltd.) and it was the first time many of us had run a currency exchange. As a result, there were a number of teething issues that the exchange faced. Since then, we’ve been delighted to see other exchanges also add LEOcoin to their trading list and after the successful fork to Proof of Stake earlier this year, more and more people are interested adding LEOcoin to their exchange.

It is fair to say that the LEOxChange is not the fastest exchange in the world and we’re very aware of the challenges it faces. Now that we are established as an exchange and are doing fairly decent volume, we have started a massive project of improvement which we’re planning to have ready to launch early in 2017. The immediate priorities for the new LEOxChange are:

1.   Much faster withdrawals of digital currencies
2.   A faster user experience
3.   Dozens of minor tweaks and fixes that will make using the LEOxChange an absolute pleasure.
4.   The graphics and look of the Exchange will be fundamentally the same, this is all about fixing what’s under the hood.

Following that, there are a number of other enhancements that we are looking at, which have still not been finalised. These include things like adding credit card functionality, enabling margin trading and many other things that one should expect from a modern exciting place to trade digital currency. To be clear, these additional enhancements are under discussion and I’m happy to have another conversation when the roadmap for the LEOxChange beyond the immediate improvements has been agreed.

One of the great things about the LEOxChange is that because it has the support of a parent company, LEO Ltd., it has the resources and the muscle to invest in improvements and cutting edge developments.

Governments and local entrepreneur associations and general public and business are interested in digitally encrypted payment solutions, because they are secure, fast and cheap. Financial institutions are mostly interested in the technology behind the distributed ledger and not in digital currency as such - for obvious reasons. However, having decentralized options for inter-bank trading is another thing, which would likely result in having financial powers being even less accountable towards governments and the people as they are today.

Accordingly to Wittgenstein who said in Sect. 43 of his Philosophical Investigations that: "the meaning of a word is its use in the language", I would like to propose that the meaning of digital currency is thus analog to its functional relevance in the economy.

As LEOcoin Foundation, we have a primary mission to promote a global digital currency economy. If the fintec industry will be open or not, we will pursue our objectives. As the current debt-based system of fractional reserve banking is on itself not sustainable, it is indeed an exiting time to live in.
