Why bother? Let em find out for themselves. Otherwise you'll get the blame if something goes wrong. Some things are more trouble than they're worth. Money and advice are one of them.

Yes, we have the same attitude as far as telling or explaining Bitcoin and other digital currencies to friends and even family members. It would be hard to understand this whole thing if a person has no prior introduction or a primer assimilated first so I guess we should just say that he/she can search about it by using Google.

Google is the answer on this regard. And if a person is really into it, he can learn so many things online so why bother explain or convince someone to join the club?

You are experiencing the same problem as me ?? Please, Let me know how to say it for my friend or family !!

Everything new is crazy to enter in some minds. People just don't know how bitcoin/blockchain works, maybe you can show some youtube videos or show your wallet or things like that...

There's a lot of videos on youtube about bitcoin or blockchain, some short, some long, if someone want's to understand, for sure they will.

See first if they are computer literate because if they are not, then you'd probably just look weird in front of them. They wouldn't understand a thing that you're saying. Tell them that bitcoin is a currency that no government can control, the transactions are all transparent, and people are all anonymous. Also tell them that beware of the scammers lurking around that would trick them into sending their money.

A good way is to manage their funds. I have friends that find bitcoin very interesting but they are not very willing to look into it - since they find it difficult/are not very computer savvy. Their are keen to invest though, so I've been keeping their bitcoins in offline wallets. Slowly they start to get more and more interested by checking its price regularly.

It is indeed a good one way, but that's the way it will be able to give a good effect if indeed we introduce them at a time when the price of the bitcoin very unstable or are likely to be low. So then because in fund management that they do in the bitcoin can provide huge advantages for them and at the same time it will make them more confident about bitcoin

My parents are simply not interested in knowing or using bitcoins as they are not internet savvy and prefer to stay away from it and they even don't prefer to use credit cards for online shopping as they have fear that it can hack their details so its very hard to convince them for bitcoins but its not too difficult to explain it to friends.
Yeah to explain bitcoin to friends is a piece of cake but to do the same thing to my parents is way more difficult. I've tried so many times but they still don't change their mind and same thing happens every time. They don't have the enthusiasm to know more about bitcoin and most technology stuffs.

you shouldn't be so hard on yourself when trying to explain bitcoin to friends and family it is really not that hard to explain it to others. you just have to understand bitcoin yourself.
if you have good enough knowledge about bitcoin and have been using it for a while, then you would have an easier time explaining it.

The reality is that the older generation will always prefer to stay away from bitcoins as they don't want to waste their time in something that is totally new to them and they may even find it difficult to use it and at that age the would not be interested in experimenting with their spending.

That is correct, being computer literate is the main factor that you would consider as having bitcoin is dealing with technology. Even you explain further,if no computer background it is useless. But slowly, you can give idea first how the bitcoin works and next is the actual opening their wallet.

that is not completely right , specially these days.
you can know nothing more than basic computer stuff like turning your computer on/off and opening a website and still be using bitcoin.
because there are so many online services and wallets that help you deal with that kind of stuff and have nothing to worry about like setting the fees too high or too low, or so many other things.

This have been the problem for most of us. Easy to tell them but hard to explain it thoroughly. Problem also is it might get awkward specially with the family thing. To friends it is easy. But not all of them will continue.

I have different experience when it comes to telling my brother about bitcoin, it's easier specially if you are both in the same course or he/she also has knowledge about computer and internet, it didn't take me long for him to understand what I am saying, sad to say he didn't want the idea. About my friends, well, they are not interested, and I think it's hard for them to understand it since most people love to listen to not so complicated things.

thats true if they understand nothing they wont get interested but when they have some ideas for sure its not hard to convince them
since bitcoin is just new we just needed to promote more and more positive things about bitcoin.

Yes it is very difficult to tell bitcoin to people around because bitcoin is still new so it is still a few people who understand bitcoin. I once told bitcoin to my friends and their responses vary. There is a direct understand and be interested, but others do not understand and do not care. We can not force and most importantly, explain in detail about bitcoin, I'm sure if interested he'll try to use it.

It's hard for them to realize the possibilities that could possibly happen if they know and understand bitcoin. Some people I've talked with about Bitcoin doesn't understand it completely. They don't know what is it really about until they experienced it. The best way to learn is to experience and have them make their own decisions but advice them along the way.

This is very easy, you can just simply tell your family and friends that you are earning bitcoin. And if they will not believe you, then simply show them.
That is going to make them encourage you to keep on working with bitcoin and if they will think that bitcoin is illegal then let them believe but in yourself you know what you are doing.

There is no better way than showing an example to them... Most people are interested in how to make money, perhaps you could really start it with telling them that you are earning bitcoin to make money, and the rest, well, if you catch their interest, it's all up to them to continue the journey, but if they don't want it, don't try to convince them, it would just give you hard time convincing people who are not interested...  Smiley

I think my family is not interested especialy my parents. They're very not a fan of new technology. But i guess they will know it since bitcoin is becoming more popular now. I know it because i have seen international news which featured bitcoin. The media can be an effective instrument to introduce it to your friends or family. Also we can use social.media like facebook, instagram, youtube etc. as way to get to know about bitcoin.

sounds interesting topic,
I think that it would be the best to tell them that you really have some proofs because people mostly believe what they see, you should show them your bitcoin balances by telling them that it is a money that can be earned, invested or used for buying things even, and tell them every basic information you have about it and see their reaction then.
