It wouldnt surprise me if this was real and another fork was needed. all the eth fan boys would still back it to the hilt about how amazing it is and how bitcoins days are numbered. Since the hard fork happened my coins i mine seem to be getting sent into a black hole and i canty figure out why so seeing this just reinforces for me that eth is a failure.

Yes, that is why Vitalik asked Ethereum classic to fork to fix this issue but they are refusing. Sloppy indeed as they didnt even account for the possibility of 2 coins surviving.  

Ethereum developers, the foundation and Vitalik are now laughed at in the cryptosphere? What are the old men of crypto thinking now? If Satoshi was here what will he say to this?

Many old cipherpunks thought that this project was naive and doomed from the start. Vitalik is indeed intelligent , but young , inexperienced and unwise. They don't appear to understand that we exist in an adversarial environment 24/7 and one must plan for every possible attack as real money is on the line.

We have come to learn that users may be at risk from the exhanges Coinbase and GDAX.
This is breaking right now and we have some pending reports of how deep this may actually reach.

In actual fact, GDAX and Coinbase are related. They are owned by the same company.

It has become apparent that GDAX have suffered major replay attacks in the early trading of the new hardfork (ETHF) clone.
They did not properly secure themselves from the attack after advice presented by the Ethereum foundation was taken.

During this period it is unknown what actual amount of ETC was relayed but we have estimated it is much bigger than initially anticipated.
This occurred over a number of days as GDAX where assured by the Ethereum foundation there would be no interest in the original and unbreakable genesis chain.
They where even aware of the attack vector but left it unpatched. It is specualted this may have been an attempt to kill off their competing chain.
