i would just like to see it as an alternate payment option, ala paypal.
imagine the jump in BTC value if you could buy shit on amazon with BTC. people would then finally have a "use" for them, versus their current "worthlessness".
and thats kind of the idea behind an alternate currency. that you can use it to, you know, buy the shit you usually do with other currency.

Yea, I think this could be the big, "break" for bitcoin. I was thinking a fully integrated banking service. Maybe you could open up an account for a flat fee and you get access to a debit card. Your account can hold either USD or bitcoin which can be converted on one of the bitcoin exchanges. You could also buy stuff with the debit card and get instant approval. That way you could buy at ANY merchant without having to tell everyone to start accepting bitcoin.

sell more real world things. i don't care what it is, just that is is something, that gets the economy running. if you can't buy anything with bitcoins the economy will crash.

Spendbitcoins is probably the best for buying anything online with Bitcoins. Very easy to use.

I personally would like to see a major Currency Exchange have an option to pay out/recieve Bitcoins for any other currency. Ex. See it in airports, malls, larger towns.

I'll be looking into ways to replace paypal for my existing businesses in a perfectly seamless way. Right now paypal handles my subscriptions and direct payments. If I can replace paypal, have people pay with cash, card, or bitcoin, get paid in bitcoin, but still convert it to paypal quickly for bills with no hassle, I'd be set. I dislike having to do all the conversions myself, repeatedly though. None of it is automated enough for me.

Love love love Spendbitcoins. Used it many times now to convert to Amazon gift credit. The first time, Jeremy was being dicked around by Amazon, which caused a long conversion delay, so he sent me an additional, generous gift credit, for the inconvenience. With Amazon gift credit, you bank it in your account and it won't expire before you can spend it. If you're concerned about losing market value, or hacking if you don't keep an offline wallet, convert it! Can't wait until the conversions are instantly automated.

Because $ payments involves lotsa hassle. Privacy issues, security, dependent on evil companies, slow transactions, ridiculous banking fees. The whole point of Bitcoin is to AVOID $ and € like the plague.

A router that sells wifi airtime for BTC at a good price. The market for this might be a small hotel or mall kiosk. They could just purchase the device and turn it on. I envision it running a client and after updating it begins selling. One can connect (this may be the tricky part) and send the fee before connecting to the net. Then the router opens up a connection for the length of time paid. A full blown version could have a deposit button that uploads your coins to Mt.Gox at the end of the day, or even a feature that allows customers to purchase some of the coins in the router wallet.
