It can't ever reach $100
why not? dash reached $100 and dahs isn't anything special to ethereum, they both have some quality features, if dash can etheruem can also, ethereum can just double and be at $100 not a thing that hard to do in crypto, we see all the time shitcoin without a name that get a 2x pump without any reason, instead ethereum have all the reasons to go to $100 now maybe ethereum user still use ETH not ETC you can see about dev if create new altcoin majority use ETH token, iam never found, new altcoin in develop use ETC token and this now ETC price $1.98 , so if can reach to 100 dollar is very long time |

For me it would be some months after the Ethereum switch to PoS. People will start looking to ETC seriously, and the price, as well as the hashrate, will severely increase. My guess is March 2018.

Today I saw price of ETC is 2 mbtc, little more, and on poloniex it have good trading volume, and I was thinking is it etc good coin for investing? Now I'm looking what I'd new here and I see this topic, if your guess is accurate March 2018 is not so far, that means that etc is good coin for investing now while it's not expensive. I will think about this more seriously. |

i still say it is not possible. and the reason is very simple. apart from ETC being the same crappy code as ETH and having lots of bugs and problems, there is always going to be a big roadblock on the way to go up. and that roadblock is called Ethereum foundation. ETC is like a thorn in their eye. the don't want to ever see it succeed. and they own about 70+ million ethereum which was doubled so they have the same amount on ETC after the fork and history has proven that they will dump to prevent the rise. and then use the money to pump ETH. |

question is when?
ETC have its chance to increase until $100 but if you asked when, no one will know the times and we can waiting for the time is come. ETC will follow like what ETH do in the price and i think ETC will increase high too and its about the times that will answer. |

No way ETC will go to $100 unless BTC goes to $100,000. It seems like the pump for ETC is done and the market is looking at other new coins instead. People had enough of the ETH and ETC saga over the last few months and are tired of them. The price of ETC is slowly going down until maybe 50 cents.

You do not really evaluate the price of the coin in years,if there is a sudden spike in interest you never know what the price would be and with the recent rally the price has moved up which i thought would never happen,so anything can happen If it can not be $100 in 5 years, it will be a forgotten coin.
Same thing i have to tell you,you really cannot calculate the valuation of a coin in terms of years,who knows if an update or a new development changes the core fundamentals and then there is a sudden interest in the coin,the price would rise,but a valuation of $100 even in a five year time frame is not possible with the current scenario and situation. |
