Danger when buying/selling BTC in person

Yes it can be a danger if you do not know the person who buying/ selling btc because sometimes they can scam you. I experience that when i buy btc in one person in the fb he said that i pay it first then i sent the money then after i transfer the money he block me in his fb account. Nothing i can do my money is gone.

well in fb there's so damn many scammers,especially if you're trying to make a transaction with the person you don't know about,just don't trust anyone in online world,be careful and don't easily get lured to make a transaction,be sure to use an escrow

I am so sad about you're bad experience. If I am being you,I will not easily trust to a stranger. I have to know first with whom I make a bussines. I have a brother that was made a transaction such like you, but he did the transaction with trusted man that was known in some forum. so he didn't lost any money. I think do the transaction in a public place is savety enough if there is someone in near you're living want to do any transaction with you, it is can reduce the risk of being robbed. This is not about the bitcoin but it is about with whom you make a transaction. Also don't make a transaction in big amount like 10 btc in one time is risky. Just make a transaction in 1 btc or 3 btc in one time.

There is some danger I have to say, You are going with money to meet a stranger "regardless of you are carrying USD or BTC", I suppose it's a must to meet in a public place like a bank or a popular store, There I think the risk should be minimum.

Yes, meeting in a public place should be fine. But some towns actually have “common people meeting” area’s in parking lots with security measurements and frequently an officer to keep guard. Some cities are obviously more proactive than others for these kind of purposes and we must utilize them to safe guard ourselves.

Yes it is true, scammers are always lurking on the corner waiting for someone to devour. But there are also tricks on how to purchase or selling bitcoin you just need to make sure that you know the person and that he/she is trusted. So without further adue it is best to find and escrow or third party site to buy and sell bitcoins that way you can be sure that your money or bitcoin is safe.

Personally i avoid dealings like this cause it is not easy to trust a random stranger.

I have heard many people here in forum were scammed, or robbed when they tried to sell their bitcoin offline in person. This deal seems to be very huge and he should risk to much at once. For these deals is recommended to go on a safe place.

I don't sell/buy Bitcoins in person. I usually use a reliable escrow service. Sometimes, I do take the risk of selling/buying without escrow, but I have never had any problems either way.

However, I have never sold or bought Bitcoin in person. Like you have read the article I also think that such business with strangers is unsafe.

though have not experience any of such..but i can there are danger in buying, in that the amount of bitcoin you are buying is not exactly what you will get, when buying in person..and i believe thats, that some challenges some faces too...though not all can be trusted...not paying your actual bitcoin purchase....

Lol no one can believe in online. everybody uses the secret identity allows them to cheat or do scamming. so you should be careful when making transactions with anyone on the internet. where possible use collateral

If you fix your own convenient and secure spot, there problems almost minimized. Selling in person is going to be next trend as it will be funny and instant.

Yeah, indeed it is not to worry about. Because the system of buying and selling is very safe and not bitcoin will probably happen if your wallet isn't holdup know by others. So do things like usual and tightens security of your account, because it is something very important to keep your bitcoin

That should be the case always.  We should not always trust strangers.  And often times we heard these stories of people turned to be holduppers and there were persons who were easy to trust.  And whenever we have these kind of transactions it is a must to have a friend or a relative companion.

What can a friend do when the person you want to deal attacks both of you? For me I would take a online wallet with 2FA and transfer the balance to him after getting the money and telling the 2FA code through the phone, but again there is some room for stealing the money.

Best meet up location is to have it on a very crowded where there's no chance for him to do anything harmful, and of course, you can always have a friend to watch out for you just in case. Transacting coins in person is somewhat scam-proof than buying coins online. However, the exchange for that is convenience because you both would have to travel to a place to meetup but that's worth the effort of having a scam-free transaction.

I think they are just doing that by person buying bitcoin because they didnt really know what is bitcoin if this is scam or not.. so they are looking for someone to meet so that they can sure about bitcoin if this is true or not..
Honestly we can easily exchange fiat in online you dont need to meet someone to buy bitcoins..

I think they are just doing that by person buying bitcoin because they didnt really know what is bitcoin if this is scam or not.. so they are looking for someone to meet so that they can sure about bitcoin if this is true or not..
Honestly we can easily exchange fiat in online you dont need to meet someone to buy bitcoins..

There are many trusted escrow if you want buying bitcoin into person online but i think much safe if you buy bitcoin with meet up method which is less risk, less fees and less worries but it is hassle if the both parties was too far in each other.
