So I'm having fun with giving away Bitcoins and I'm ready to transfer 1BTC to the one who posts the most creative idea on how he/she is going to spend it. Mostly on how to make world a better place, but it also applies on smart investment and business ideas.

I'll select a winner in 30 days from now.
No warranties! I may decide not to give it in case there's not enough/too much posts. And you have no reason to trust me. So no whining if it won't work out.
I'll try my best to select the best idea. This will be subjective however.

Post it!

I would put the full amount into my site getfreebitcoin.com for my TwitterGames and newbie raffles. The whole point of the site is to help spread the enjoyment of bitcoin to those who can't buy any/don't know much about bitcoin in general. I usually hold a Tgame or raffle everyday with a 0.01BTC prize, sometimes twice a day. As you can imagine that gets pretty expensive. So far I have been able to pay about 50/50, that is 50% out of pocket, and 50% on the btc generated from newbies clicking the links on my site (which lead to more free giveaways). I hope one day to make it so that the site is self sufficient, and can generate its own prize money. For now I am content with the occasional donation by fellow advocates of spreading the word of BTC, and my own coinage, but a 1BTC donation to the sites newbie giveaway will surely allow me to up the prize money/get rid of some of the coinurl links (hate those things).

Well that is what I would do with it, if anyone wants to donate to the site, or you decide that the idea is worth while, the newbie raffle/giveaway fund address is in my signiture!

Thanks for holding something like this!

I would create a paper wallet and give it as a tip to some waiter or waitress with instructions on how to redeem it. I think if it's still holding its present value, it would be a great tip for the night and get someone to look into it and probably tell their colleagues about how they got tipped a Bitcoin worth X amount of dollars. (:

I'd use it to help fund an online "mental health" forum where people are given a monetary (BTC) incentive to help others.  The premise is the following:  Utilizing something similar to Facebook's "Like" feature, the forum would allow for a "tipping" mechanism.  Specifically, one set of users would be using the forum to give advice and support to others, and another set of users would be the ones asking for support or venting their problems.  If these users "like" the advice they receive, they can indicate this and the helper will receive a small BTC tip for their time and consideration.  This monetary incentive would help to mitigate the typical problems you find on social networking sites, particularly mental health ones (e.g. ridicule, humiliation, psychopathy, etc.).

This one BTC would help kickstart the tip jar Smiley

To develop one funny game that could collect coins, and surely these coins would be bitcoins, or part of them would be bitcoins, depend on the volume of your coins.

With your 1BTC I'll get a developer to make a pop up for www.btcaid.org. This pop up will be a javascript miner so people can raise funds for a great cause while doing their daily chores on their computers/laptop.

I would use the 1BTC to invest in various businesses (like satoshi dice) then sell off all shares for a profiit.I would then recycle 2 thirds of the profit into more ventures and repeat this cycle a few times.Eventually cash everything out for a profit and start off my career in film/TV (must happen within 6 months after I start the whole plan).

I will split the BTC into 10 separate addresses of 0.1 BTC. I will then hide the private keys in 10 places around the world. I will reveal the location of each one online every time the blockchain reward halves (2016, 2020, etc). This revealing won't be obvious, however. The hints to the location will not be easy to figure out.

This will literally make people "mine" for bitcoins.

Stick the 1BTC in an address all by itself. Sell each digit of the private key for 1 satoshi, but never sell more than 10 digits to any one person. Maintain a public list of who bought which keys, and watch as people barter and trade until one person has the entire key, and claims the 1BTC.

I would setup my stepson with his own wallet, transfer the coin to him, explaining the history and usefulness of BC and alt currencies, in the hope that it will elevate his interest in computer science and engineering and find much new efficient ways to mine more BC or invent his own alt currency.

Since he's only 10... I would hope BC will continue its accelerating valuation and perhaps one day he could pay his college tuition with it... Or make it his thesis to implement bitcoin as the primary form of payment, ir source of student loans, at a major University.

How's that?

I would hold the bitcoin to see it raise in a bit and use the funds to start my own T-shirt business.  It's would be a Bitcoin clothing store.  That would be used to advertise Bitcions all over the world and I'd have contests and giveaways for newbies and valuable members here frequently.  It's a win win and free advertising and I'd pay tribute to you for the startup funds with a special t-shirt line.

Then I'd use the profit to expand the company and reimburse you for ur generosity.  I'd also start a local restaurant.  Most likely a food truck or even a cart in hopes to one day own my own restaurant or multiple food trucks and I'd accept Bitcoins ofcourse.  All leftover food would go to homeless and less fortunate people in my area.  That is my goal/dream, and you would play a hupe part in making it happen.  I hope u can see the value in it.  Fun thread and great idea I hope to do the same someday.

I will start a thread on the tenth biggest forum on the internet where I have thousands of posts saying "giving away 1 free bitcoin to a random poster in this thread"

They usually get hundreds and hundreds of replies for free items worth far less than even the bitcoin's current worth.

Will deliver too. Primarily, though, it will expose bitcoin to a lot of new people, and if some adopt it, they will spread it, etc etc

Just keep trying even better - think of blockchain, analysis, divisibility, spreading. Anything hacky-technical you can think of. Or just something simple elegant and altruistic. Surprise me!

I'd make myself a Printcoin bill and fund it with that 1 BTC. With that I'd bring it to my favorite little organics shop near my school and show it to them, and use the paper bill to get them to better understand bitcoin as a currency. Hopefully they'd then consider accepting bitcoin as payment, especially considering they aren't doing so well. Maybe then the use of bitcoin would spread throughout my community ever so slowly. It'd be worth a shot Tongue

I wanted share a couple other interesting ideas.  One I liked is posting an ad on Craigslist for a grassroots giveaway of  Bitcoins to all who email me there address.  That would help spread the word and get btc in the hand of the general public also I'd email them instructions to come and learn more about Bitcoin here.

Starting a transparent bitcointalk based business run by trustworthy members. This will be able to benefit the community and the economy as a whole.  Starting small with Bitcoin bake sales or maybe some kind of barter/escrow service to help connect trusted member.  Some profits can be used for newbie giveaway contests and starting new ventures like raffles auctions for charitable causes.  Or maybe a class that teaches how to safely use BTC without fear, sharing small portions of the coin with newbs to use how they see fit with the promise to repay the debt and give the next person to learn the same lesson.

.  The goal would be a success story for the community started with a single coin.  A while giving people there first coins to learn and understand what Bitcoin brings to the table.  I think it would be interesting to see what the community could do with a single coin and how many people would benefit from such a humble start.

Lastly a Youtube contest would be good to get the attention of newcomers.  The maker of the best vid gets .X BTC and people that were referred/viewed the winning vid get some free coins creating some excitement and interest.  The video would be to about attracting teaching newcomers the value of Bitcoins.

Time to get back to the deal.

Personally, I adore the idea of the single bitcoin being distributed in a traceable way, but there weren't that many proposals on it (at least for what I expected).
So it's not like: "I will add it to my wallet and will buy/develop/gamble from the pool". Sure, any development can lead to really cool things, but it's not the main point here. There's no problem with taking half of BTC to yourself and using the rest for a bigger purpose, however there were not that many deep proposals on it.

I've selected these favorites, and to make it a bit harder for a final winner, I'll ask to prove their points. So, guys, if you care, please give more details on how you are going to do it and prove it with blockchain/timelog etc.:

I'd forgotten about this. It's been a long time -- quite a lot has happened since I posted here (see my sig, LOL). I'm actually in the process of giving away 20 BTC as "marketing expenses" (special offer) to new users on my new China exchange -- and dealing with all the upfront losses as a result.

I'd still be up for this though -- I won't turn down 1BTC. :-) Obviously I have a vested interest. Here's how I'd do it...

Have you heard about the current Chinese 'Gold Rush'? I'd print out 2,000* high quality flyers and give them to people / leave them lying around outside Shanghai's big gold shops, and to a lesser extent around the business district.

The flyer would be printed on glossy paper, double sided. Top side would be about Bitcoin and how it is "Gold 2.0". The bottom side would be "how to buy", but would include directions for my exchange :-)

* The quantity would be such that the total cost would be 2BTC -- I'd double your money. I might have to include expenses for handing them out though, as flyposting here is quite high-risk. If after the first day I deemed it too risky, I'd pay someone else to do it for me.

I would out it towards buying a piece of land with a operating gold mine, I would then run the machines required with wind turbines etc. This is a VERY expensive way to start off, but something which I have always wanted to do. I would be willing to hire workers with Bitcoin, however only to people in the local area. (Not yet figured out where to locate the business).
I still have a long  way to go, however everything gets me a little closer to my goal. I'm going to be buying some land very soon, I have a few people who I have been in contact with. I have been researching for a few years now.

When I have some idea on the landscape of the area, I will then finalise some of my designs/plans This could potentially be very profitable in the long run, hard work but that's right down my street. Like I said, I have researched a lot into this, and have know how to actually put my plans into order.

The wind turbines would be powered by solar panels. I already know not to expect a profit within the first 3 years, however my estimated calculations say that I would be able to break even within 5 years if everything goes to plan. Of course these are only estimates and may not be accurate, could take less or more time.

I know it's not the best idea, but I think it's a unique idea to everyone who has posted, it would be friendly to our environment (Not fully first of all). I actually am going to do with one of my family members, who actually has experience with this sort of work. (Except the solar panels etc.)

I would send it to the POTUS Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam accompanied by a letter outlining it's potential.

I would have offered the bitcoin on a 7 day eBay auction to the bidder with the most creative idea.

I like it so far - still ready to do it? Would you share some details on the process?

Would you care to create a plan for that?

Sounds cool, just how can you prove? Smiley

Could you elaborate on how the plugin is going to function? So far it's a bit vague.

And thanks to everyone else too!

So BitPirate if you haven't printed the flyers yet - you are the winner.
Just one thing: I would like to get some proof, could you post some photos of the flyers or something similar here? In that case please give me your address.

OK, cool! Thanks very much. Let me talk to the other half and get back to you with the flyer design...
