I decided to switch to ETH today, the farm is currently mining XMR.... and the RX480s fans roared like bats on steroids!

Havent heard the entire warehouse whizzing like that and temps +5-6c. Also watts increased at least 300w per rig!

I didnt realise that XMR mining is even lower watts consumed compared to ZEC, given ETH is the most power hungry.

Back to XMR mining..... 2nd most profitable among the 3 coins. Saves power so why not.

Anyone changed mining strategies yet?

XMR since a few weeks... 520W to 820W (XMR / ETH) Rig1 for example (5x RX470).. no question about that ;-) much smarter if you don´t pay under 5ct / kwh

Yeah I am going to move rigs to xmr.

I have tried many XMR pools.. I found an interesting one called dashminer.com

It was a Dash / X11 pool before but they decided to kill off the Dash pool and setup XMR instead... with "profit sharing" -- its effectively a 1.5 24 hour PPLNS reward plan XMR pool. and pays to BTC address. No registration required.

You can try out and compare with your existing XMR pool.

Looks like a cool rigs you have over there, whats your advice from this experience, would you recommend to someone to make 2 rigs with 4 cards each or 1 rig of 6 cards? Like what's the best, and also any thoughts of PSU EVGA Supernova 1000W G2 Gold? I am in plan to get either 6 or 8 GPU's probably RX 470 4gb. Any suggestion? Thanks in advance and keep it up with the great work as always  Wink

Well.. I always don´t know if I should answer.. all your questions got answered many times here on bitcointalk.org

1 rig = half the problems, less energy wasting (1 instead of 2 systems..)

Oddly enough, I just got done moving ALL of my 1070 rigs out of the ETH/ETC/XMR/ZEC basket entirely. They're now a bit more profitable doing what I originally built them for.

let the rig run for about 24 hours since the payout system is PPLNS

the daily payout is posted on the dashminer thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1740046.msg17591427#msg17591427

with entry like this:

22-01-2017 payout hash is 9053e101114b113f78499fe1102dc2d35b99b9020e1224ed6e9f6af5be5c99f3. 0.001442 BTC per KH/s. $1.326 USD per KH/s (919.76 BTC/USD exchange rate).

Now for exciting news on the z270 series.

I am testing this mobo

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128966

and this cpu
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117730

It is very attractive.  has 3 slots  full size and two for risers. ie five cards..

I just got five cards going on eth.

3 msi rx 470's    --------------- 4gb
1 powerclor red devil rx 470 -- 4gb
1 radeon  rx 480 --------------  4gb

seems stable. at the moment.

I am running windows 10  Enterprise

Phil , is it thanks to the voltage reducing you achieve less than 600w with 5 GPUS ?
While Eth mining, my 5 GPUs rig is more than 800w and I would like to reduce consumption to make it work with evga 750 p2.

Yeah. I use msi after burner.
Set at -90. Volts. Set at - 12 power
Set at 1025 core
Set at 1650 memory
Set fans at 70
See how it runs.  Tweak.

Also all my psus are plat or tit 😈

I like evga p2 750 watt
I like rosewill quark 750 watt
I like evga t2 750 watt

In all of the above I look for good deals
If the deal is good I buy.
I just got a evga t2 750 watt for 139 usd very cheap for titanium.

 for four card eth

Thanks Phil , will give a try for my rig that exceed 800w and I wat to use with evga 750p2.

For the ones interested by my 7 GPUs problem with MSI gaming 5 , nothing woked.
So I installed windows 10 instead of 7, and after a few reboot , plug unplug and riser exchange, it worked.

I did a 7 x R7-370 with Win8.1 and a 1-to-3-PCI-splitter, on a H81 Asrock mobo... but that was last year.

Now.... its running Linux with SMos direct from SSD - I sleep much better at night now.

I got my test rigs to mine solo Pascal coin the whole afternoon, no luck.... and looking at the PASC whale action on Poloniex.... I think its a lost cause for us small miners because certainly we out of the league competing with mega GPU farms.

So I stopped the test rigs, and configured it back to XMR, and bought PASC with BTC at Poloniex. I bailed out exactly 35 minutes after buying PASC, when it hit +22% profit excl. fees!!!

Could you sum up the PASC thing ?
I've not heard about it yet or I've not investigate that coin.
