I asked a question about a specific casino investment and got a link for this thread.
I'd like to thank you for taking the time and effort to share all this data with us. That's really cool and will help me a lot for chosing!
Of course I know this data is relative and that I can't generalize your experience but still it's very cool to have actual facts to base on in order to make a choice!

It is not always safe to invest in a casino.  That is a really dumb thing to say.  In fact it is not always safe to invest in anything.

If you even bothered to look back and read through this thread in full you would see that OP has had some poor returns on some of the casinos that he invested in.

There has also been cases in the past where popular casinos just stole everybodys money and shut up shop.

Then there have also been cases where whales have got lucky and destroyed the bankroll causing huge losses to investors.

Also there is a risk that the casino may get hacked.

To tell people that there is no risk is really irresponsible and very poor advice.

I agree to some extent. Because lets be honest, anything to do with Bitcoins carries a risk, just like opening your front door to a stranger or cooking dinner. My point is that saying anything is risk free is technically not true, but you have to wager with everything in life if its worth it or not. Lets take your examples up:

1) Casinos shuting down and leaving with everybodies money.
This is a very real and obvious risk, that doesn't only happen with casinos but every situation where you deposit BTC, wether it being wallets, casinos, HYIP's and pretty much every loan/investment sites there are. That is why you always want to make sound choices when depositing you BTC anywhere. Is the casinos holding to small/big to be at risk of high rollers or hackers is just one of the things you should worry about and take in to consideration.

2) Whales/High rollers cleaning out casinos.
Again only relevant for small sites, which is has a general higher risk than larger casino sites.

3) Sites getting hacked.
A risk applicable to all sites again, even this. All though I'm not very sure of what to gain from hacking a forum. Here is again a risk that is generally higher for smaller sites, given that larger ones can pay for better security and/or has a team with greater experience and knows how to counter act most black hatters. This said, larger sites also means larger deposits of BTC which makes it more interesting for hackers, but it's a general paranoid mindset that keeps this risk alive.

I have one principle that allways comes in handy in this situation: Don't put money in other peoples hands, that you can't afford to loose. Peace out.

if we select recommended site and trusted site then we can feel safe but not all of us can choose the right one because the information that we get is from many places and sometimes that place can give wrong info and we are getting stuck with the sites. but i am agree with Kasabus said that its safe to make invest in a casino as long as that casino is reputable site.

Kasabus stated in his post "It's always safe to invest in a casino."  That statement is nonsense and is terrible advice to give to anybody thinking of starting out investing in a casino no matter what way you try to sugarcoat it.

The first point that you make saying "Casinos shutting down and leaving with everybodies money. This is a very real and obvious risk"  this agrees that it is NOT ALWAYS SAFE to invest in a casino.  Keeping your Bitcoin in your own wallet and being in control of your own private keys is much safer although does not offer the same potential reward.

Your second point of Whales/High rollers cleaning out casinos only being relevant to small sites is not one that I would agree with either. If you read back through this post you will see that Safedice lost a huge portion of its bankroll in the past as a result of one huge bet by huggermugger.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=868275.msg14439004#msg14439004 Also the OP had a big loss on his investment with Bitvest earlier in this thread.  This resulted in him ending his investment in bitvest.   So again this contradicts Kasabus statement that "It is always safe to invest in a casino."

In your third point you say "All though I'm not very sure of what to gain from hacking a forum" ....Neither am I, and I am not really sure why you brought that up because nobody here is talking about investing in a forum. All investments carry risk.  We may be able to reduce this risk through various factors like smart decision making and careful research but we can not eliminate it.

If any investment was "always safe" then everybody would be doing it.

No one in this whole world can advice when is the right time to disinvest. We should book some profits whenever we think it is made some profit and can again re-enter into any investment. Becasue we don't know the future so anything can happen and for that no need to regrat and you may get better option to invest that money. Good luck to you...

Enough is enough is probably the right term when it comes to divesting, there is no reason to keep it further and hope that it will give you more profit in the future when you think that you had enough. Some people just dont know when to stop when it is enough and instead trying to push some luck into it and ended up failing

Apart from the risk of putting your cash into one central site this seems quite smart thinking and basically a proper investment.    Any site which collects its value centrally is more risky then the distributed nature of bitcoin normally but then the money is being used, makes more sense then keeping cash in an exchange in that way.  Most of us would probably do better with this system then trying to trade on exchanges, depends on the person though I guess.
Do all these sites link through to the setup for this kind of scheme

when an investment is good and it is returning good profit for you, there is absolutely no reason in the whole world other than needing the money for pulling your money out of that investment. so if it is good then keep it there until you get your initial amount out from profits and then you can put your mind at ease and enjoy the additional money you earn.

I was looking at the logs for large bets and one guy is hammering 4 btc on his bets each time and winning.  I would guess most of these operations dont throw that kind of payout and not require a few weeks to recover from overall business, that is why they need the backers

Well I said that with my cryptsy royalty shares, I did get back my money.  I do wish I had withdrawn a little more over time as well, it was only a small holding so fees made it awkward.  No big deal I guess, I was even to slightly ahead with btc rising.  That was with speculative gains, investment wise we know cryptsy failed to do its job right and there is a risk with centralised holdings always to remember

When someone wins, actually the bankroll gets lower and that is the most appropriate time for someone to put in more investment so that means the other investment got dilutted and even when the highroller lose , the shares wont be as high as the expectation so it actually work best in long term if you keep pouring money in

I think this is a good thing, when many people confuse determining investment, then the existence of gambling that can accept bitcoin is a very good thing. Fo currently gambling is not just gambling but we can use it as an investment.

FYI, investment option in gambling sites already applied since long time ago, say Justdice when they were used BTC (2013). Investment in gambling sites also has risk, you couldn't expect you'll always get profit if you're invest in gambling sites.

Some big variance in KingDice but largely due to the small bankroll at the moment. Seems my investment there has swung to positive already
