If there is a way to sell xel holdings (probably not possible to do so safely currently), I am willing to sell 190k+ coins for 18 btc.
Considering the price of similar projects like Golem and their state of development, this is a very very conservative price (should probably be around 25 btc or more).

There seem to be more people interested in selling than buying. That said, a conservative price would be whatever most desperate people are willing to sell at.

Wrong, using that approach BTC price would be below 100$ at the moment, cause you know "really desperate sellers" could go as low as that.

Price is when ask and bid meet, simple as that.

Yes, but there are a lot of people willing to buy BTC. Not as many willing to buy XEL. So yes, when ask and bid meet. But where is the bid?

I'm just managing expectations here, not looking to bash the project. I think it is a great project, but has a long ways to go.

I think all those who are trying to cheat price of their coin hundred times can look at example of Nexium. NXC added on top of all exchanges Poloniex and now it below initial offer price.  Undecided

XEL could have a lot of utility. We could look at some more interesting use cases. What I'd like to see is couple demos of solving real problems, not just a launch of an asset.

For example - it would be awesome if someone tried to solve some of the machine learning contests on Kaggle using XEL.

It is not enough to run network or to release final product, they need prove that decision is necessary and it offers better conditions than its competitors. If developers have to cope with all difficulties that I will be very happy but until I see only speculation.

Do not buy any XEL from anyone! You'll get scammed. There is no way to buy XEL right now. Once again - do not buy any XEL, there is no guarantee that person who "sold" you XEL will not use  private key before you.

there are lots of shitcoins everywhere, but XEL is not one of them. The fact that everyone thought this was a scam ( and it probably was in the beginning) and after 9 months it happens to be a functioning coin tells how undervalue this coin was at ICO. This said, it will all depend on the smart developers and how far they will take this project.

ICO cap was ca. 700 BTC at BTC prices way below 700 USD. Assuming average 500 USD per BTC, and average XEL price 120k/BTC (after increasing supply to 100M), a price above 0.0042 USD will be in profit. At current BTC price of 900 USD, exchange launch at ICO price of average 833 sat will give nice profit too (0.0075 - 0.0042 USD = ca. 78%).

Why are you guys using fiat (USD) as base currency for your calculations? BTC should be the one, especially if you consider yourself crypto enthusiasts...
When you use USD for calculations, one might have an impression you are here just for the sake of increasing your USD wealth, and have no interest in crypto and tech..  Roll Eyes

We invested in BTC and the profits (if any) should be calculated in BTC. USD is irrelevant and is a legacy currency, isn't it..?  Tongue
So anything less than 700-800 sat per XEL could not give any profit.

... this space is not for rent ...
