Elastic (XEL) Price Speculation - #Added to Bittrex

Golem currently at ~40 mill$ market cap!! - what a great precedence for XEL! (obviously golem is rising due to the rise in eth, but still it sets a very nice cap for a parallel project.
XEL should be at no less than 20 mill$ cap and rise to much higher levels.
30 cents per coin at minimum would be a reasonable starting point.

Mr. Coinzy, this is a great news. I predict Elastic market cap to be at least 7X of Golem. They have great PR, website, listed in Poloniex, Yunbi, Bittrex, BUT they don't have a working coin that we have.

Golem has a more appealing team structure / PR. But so far they are all talk. They made a lot of noise and got an ICO funded and are currently tradeable, without functionality (yet).

What strikes me as odd, is that people are far more willing to buy into something that has promises, v.s. something that is already working. It's the whole "speculation" thing. While there is hope things get overpriced. Once targets are delivered, it's when things dump, since there is nothing more to "hope for".

Markets... go figure. They have a mind of their own.

That said - XEL could definitely benefit from a longer term road map. And from what I know, EK doesn't plant to stick around much longer after it's delivered as a working product. Hopefully a team will emerge and we'll see XEL have a much brighter future, even after EK leaves.

Most of the time EK talked about leaving has been when he was overworked and people ordering him to work even faster. It's understandable to feel that way. I think as EK sees the fruit of his awesome work, he might continue this project taking it to much higher levels. I'm sure we could use more devs as EK always appreciates any good input, but he ( EK) being the main developer is something I see in horizon ( IMHO)

In general, some people (including me, honestly) value good expectations and feeling of anticipation more than the actual reached goals, even if that doesn't sound that logical...

I agree with your idea that valuating something is highly influenced by the promise of future growth. When it comes to expectations, they do not only stay with a working product or a feature set as part of future growth. There is major money in this field of computational power for hire which xel is tapping into, and thus growth would also be that of traction - actual people/organisations and such who are willing to use the system because they find it valuable for their purpose. The more real life people actually use the product the more value you will get for the product  (that is real life value and not only vapor valuation). If xel is released as a solid solution and it receives reasonable pr (so interested parties get to know about it), it can gain good traction and that by itself will produce both interest/hype but more importantly, real life value (also monetary wise).
In light of current market prices I do believe we will see xel with a high valuation in any case if things proceed on track.

With this in mind, wouldn't it be better to launch XEL mainnet even before SN and GN idea?
Just a plain NXT clone with a development as a promise would drive XEL really high.

Responded. In general I think it would be great if we allow people with private keys in the genesis to sign messages such as "I hereby transfer <X> amount of XRB to address <Y>". And then allow that to be included in the genesis as a first transaction.

This can also allow a foundation to be created, before main net launch, as I would be willing to donate a % of XEL, as well as I may want to give up a small % of the holding.

It would definitely be much better in terms of price and ROI... It would have been "trader's paradise"
That is basically what Golem has done.
But I don't think it would have been better for the project itself (meaning its real usage and value to anyone except speculators ).
