I think there are many ways where to invest bitcoin to earn one of them is through trading, like buy a certain altcoin at its lowest price then sell it after making some profit. It is a must not to be greedy on this though as you know crypto is very volatile, it maybe high now then the price plummets later. So selling your coins at some profit margin is a must. Another one is through ICOs as you can buy some tokens with bonus and sell it later once it hit exchanger platforms or you can hodl on it if you think it really is a good project. Those are risky investments so if you are more on a conservative type, better put your bitcoins on a wallet and leave it there for the mean time. Wait for its price to moon before you withdraw.

do you have more than 5 bitcoin? if yes, i think you split your bitcoin like for example 1 bitcoin for trading, 1 bitcoin for lending. for trading, you can choose the right market which is polo, bittrex, bter, yobit, etc. for lending, you can try in polo (i use this too), huobi, btcjam, etc.
if you curious about cloud mining, you can search that you want, but becareful, there are many cloud mining that will scam you, so you must choose with selected one.

Mining is not a scam, but there are people who use mining as a scam. There are other ways of earning bitcoin, as well as other ways of investing bitcoins asides mining, there are what we call ICOs, they look for investors who are willing to put money to their project to make it functional, then when their ICO becomes a success your invested money to them will make you lots more profit as well.
