There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

use cgminer and set some other pools as backup. that way, your miners will immediately switch back to mtred if it comes back. Smiley

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

Appears we could have the subject line changed to at least 1GH TH now. It does drop below but has been above a lot of the time.

edit: fixed my error. TH, not GH. Tongue

MTRED has been at an average of ~1300Ghs for the past week.

I start seeing some strange pool behavior ... from time to time I get strange rejects for all jobs from a stratum 'period'

And yes - at each new block we are losing TONS of shares...

RR needs to look into that...

Hey guys.

So im still  trying to patch the various edge cases that crash the server or lock it up.  Last night I found out that 1 ip was causing more than 20 exceptions a second, not sure if they were fuzzing us or using an outdated miner or something. And were doing some other patches to help figure out the root causes.   If you get massive swarms of rejects chances are I just restarted the server, sorry for that but I dont have a better way to update it live.

It doesnt help that I can't reproduce it under simulated load in my dev env, or than when it goes down it does so at 4am, but im working on checking its state. Usually its up, just not serving work so checking its pid stopped working (whereas crashes in pushpoold would terminate).

I am working on it, and promise we will get stable.

As talked about over the last days on IRC, why is the pool paying .0005 fees on each payout? Seems a bit excessive, especially when you consider that the pool could put payouts in its own blocks.

We could, but then ppl would need to wait on us to solve a block. I'm working out a strategy to do something similar, but its a ways out.

I know there has been significant delay in transactions confirming. Not sure why fee, but i have some thoughts on it. Hang tight.

Hi RR.
What host is better now for stratum? 'pa' or 'mine'?

EDIT:
Answer to myself: No difference, they point to the same IP.
