From experience I will not recommend it so many default on loan payment, I lent my BTC to a guy and I've been waiting  for more than 4 months now he has not paid any dime back, even with the legal battle on going and if they are able to secure the funds from him, the delay it has cost me can not be paid for because of what I intend to use the money for has already pass, It is better to lend on exchanges if you want to go on that route because of the time frame and since once you lend your BTC out the Liability is with the borrower. Thread with caution

Defaulters are everywhere, even in LoanBase.

IMO It's still best to not lend it at all, or at least, lend it to personal contacts only when the opportunity comes. Better yet invest in other places, because at this point plain lending without collateral is just too much risk.

i think it is safe to lend to someone you dont know as long as a collateral has provided by the borrower and should be something like you can get the value that defaulted in return.

Don't lend to anyone in any site without any proper collaterals and you should accept the collateral which you can easily convert into cash. I still think lending is a good way to grow our BTC but don't lend to unknown persons without collaterals. What I know is BTCJam is a full of scammers so never did any lending business on that site.
