@rizzlarolla. Do you want to start looking for farmed accounts again? They are starting to invade the signature campaigns and they sometimes get accepted by some managers who might be unaware.

Please check this account and the rest that are connected to it https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=120945

Hey bbc.reporter.

With respect to you, No, i do not intend to start looking at farmed accounts again.
I could, and have, found many more farmed accounts than i published. I have proven my point.

That point being theymos is the master scammer here. He wants to steal your Bitcoins. Everybody's Bitcoins.
There is no point me being here now. A massive % of accounts here are under his scamming control.

The account you ask me to look at?
Since i busted theymos's farming scam ring, he needed new techniques - hacked accounts.
I also publicised that scam.

For every account taken down by "us" theymos has 100 more.
theymos is the enemy here. theymos is an enemy of Bitcoin. theymos is 100% scam.

Don't waste your time here bbc.reporter. This place is a distraction.
Prepare for change on a global scale. You don't have long.

I bid you good luck. May your God be with you.

I'm sure you can look through the post history of applicants and see how their posts are mainly in Games & Rounds, Altcoin airdrops, Off-topic or some other trash farm-filled board of the forum.

rizzlarolla used to check alphabetical naming and the close proximity of uids, but there's not really much point in doing that anymore. Even now, if you just look through 2 (most likely just one) pages of a person's post history then you'll know whether the account is farmed or not. But usually in that case, the campaign managers would probably outright decline the participants (if they're any good).

Off-topic is always filled with shitposts like "What is your motto in life?", "Are you open minded?" or people quoting philosopher or other pretentious crap just to make it look like they're not shitposting. And threads that ask for "best this and that".

Politics is always filled with "Do you this and that" shitpost.

These crap just makes me want to participate less in the discussion and just buries good threads.

Careful with that, some people and some cultures might appear like shitposting to others. Not everyone has a straight-to-the- point anglo saxon mentality

i wish bitcointalk had a subforum or subsection of boards that required either a payment or a stake.  though i doubt that will ever happen.  Sad
Yeah not really, exclusive low volume forums are terrible. might as well move to facebook.

One thing they can't fake is Seniority : what I would do is evualuate the seniority and make it at least as visible as the the actual "star/ranking" system.
I don't see any cons in that, it could expose every Sr Member shitposters that registered 3 months ago, and take some money/value off these  recently farmed accounts since accounts with seniority would have more "street value/credit" so to speak.

Another thing Maybe  implementing Seniority / Post Count ratio,  from 1 to 5 ( 5 being red "overactive member" lot of post, new member.
1 Being black ( inactive member )  few post, high seniority.

That would be one non-coercitive way to fight the problem.

I see no reason to assume a 5 year old account with 50 posts has better post quality than a 1 year old account with 1000 posts.
Based on your suggest, hilariousandco would have a dark red ratio with 13 posts per day.

There isn't much point in checking alphabetical names (or some similar strategy) to find a single farmed account.

But...(!)

Once you find a single farmed account, there's a good chance that this type of strategy will reveal a shit load of other farmed accounts.  Some of which might not otherwise become obvious for months/years from now.

I agree and I've had those sections on ignore since probably 2015 when I joined the forum.  I assume people post there just to rank up easily and have nothing to say about bitcoin.  Still, I think off topic threads give the forum more character, because some people like to talk about politics and all that stuff.  This particular forum is bad, though, because of the account farmers and people who don't understand or write English.

I've been reporting shitposters like a madman lately, and they usually lay their eggs in the huge spam threads.   They're pretty easy to spot and I suspect a lot of them are farming accounts in addition to sig spamming.

But can you teach me your methods of looking for farmed accounts? They are starting to invade the signature campaigns and there might be some managers that are tricked in accepting them.

No sig manager is tricked. They are all theymos controlled, all playing their role, all lining their pockets above real bitcoiners, all cashing in on your misery.

My method was simple and foolproof, but if you cannot see it, you probably cannot be taught. Funny, no one else seemed to see it either.

Bit like looking up to the sky. No one else (i should say not many) see's the problems coming our way. Have you looked up lately?  Have you seen the sun? Really?

I should not be here, but it is nice to see a few old faithful members. Twitchy - full respect to you - an honest and dedicated member. Loyce v - respect to you sir, the pharmasist, actmyname still banging heads on brick walls - respect for that. bbc.reporter you unwittingly led my research here.

theymos will pay for his crimes. But look up guys, look at what is important right now.

Not looking at signature managers might not be a good idea. Remember that two signature managers might be the same person.

Some of the farmed accounts might be used to push xxx altcoin, some might be used to push xxx ICO and some might be used to push other agendas (such as “core”).

I would not go as far as to say theymos is behind this farming, I would say that the farming does fall in line with why theymos deems acceptable.

Suddenly? The account farming and illiterate spamming has been going on for years, and it has destroying this place from inside out. It is the primary reason for which the majority of experts, as well as other legitimate people have already abandoned the forum. The remaining legitimate people are negatively effected by this, besides those that are outright scammers and criminals who profit off of this (see Quickseller as an example). Either:
a) Theymos has bad policies.
b) Theymos is involved.

Those are not conspiracy theories, but rather potential, reasonable explanations for the stuff that has been going on around here. I'm more inclined to believe that it is 'a' given my history with theymos, but that is unfortunate as well given that he is the 'sole' ruler and often not willing to change stuff.

There should be better techniques in place to distinguish fake accounts from real. Sometimes genuine users can be accused of farming, and there is nothing they can do about it. I am sure 100% this happened already on this forum.

If you aren't shitposting/spamming, it is not likely that you're going to get accused of farming. Don't post bullshit.

Truth to be told I was accused by user I quoted above -> bbc.reporter
Now he forgot after exchange PM what he said when accused me (I was selected and he was not)
On last PM message he didn't bother to reply because he might realised that he actually made mistake.
My point is - don't judge until guilty is proven. Now my account I can put in trash - because no one will accept me for campaign.

I applied (first time in my life) - I was successfully chosen - I was removed from list while actively posting on forum - thanks to bbc-repo that knows better how to detect fake accounts and now here is asking here so it looks like his method is far from good, accusing normal account of farming. You can't reverse time, so I lost trust and credibility because bbc.reporter had second thoughts.

Thank you bbc.reporter you did marvellous job!

My technique was 100% accurate. Do you agree?
theymos has me on ignore, always has, even before i named and shamed him as the master scammer.

Please start a new thread to pick on bbc.reporter. I have a soft spot for him/her.  He/she is just a bit out of their depth, but the intention is good.

I am not accusing you of anything here, (i'm retired) but your account has many traits associated with farmed/hacked accounts.
Your account summary page (click on avatar) declares you Male, from London. Did you change that as recently as today?
You are not British born. I wont go any further. (i'm retired)

Please don't get holier than thou here.
Even i have been accused of being an alt, of Quickseller, by some account - someone "Biggs" - a hacked account.
Shit happens, so obvious.

Theymos is probably a multi-millionaire from the donations alone already and you think he is pulling the strings on the petty campaigns as well? Why would he waste time on picking up the scraps from those campaign and campaigners when he is already fucking rich? A little bit common sense please.

And finding alts is not a job. Are you pining to be employed and paid a monthly salary to bust alts? Seriously  Grin 9-5 awaits you mate.

Pull your head out your own ass matey.

No pull your ass from your house and this forum.

Oh handbags at dawn?
I'll explain further for the retards here. (theymos shills an all)

WTF are you on about a job?
I never been paid for this. I have never taken a cent of anyone here. I have got a real job thanks.

I am retired from "bothering". "Retired" being a turn of phrase, donk.

I tried to help you a while back when Timelord accused you of stuff. I worried Timelord may have got it wrong
You were a twat then too, so i gave up.

Now please fuck off, i'm done with you, theymos shill.
