Looking at my pool stats it appears miner #2 has lost a board Sad

Will ssh in  and check when I get home.

Phew, whole thing stopped hashing. rebooted and all ok.

Dropped the frequency down on the remaining units a tad.

Hopefully sending faulty board off for rma tomorrow.

Good to see you got one of yours back Phil!

Bitmainwarranty  does say they will now take in boards.
After my experience I will buy from him.
As collecting on the warranty via China is hard to do.

I have my first replacement board due today it is on the truck due for delivery.

This was covered via warranty ,but the boards was only 10 hours old never over clocked.

The older board is not yet fixed and I may pay for repairs on it. I have yet to  be contacted on the damage details on the board.

It is not so difficult sending them to China

I opened    Repair Ticket  2016-08-27 08:13:47
Shipped with EMS  27.08.2016 12:08  [ 2 hashboards , shipping costs about 85 euro]
Delivery  China, Hong Kong  01.09.2016 11:44

Repair Collect Send    05.09.2016    9:57
RepairOrder Payed Send  07.09.2016  4:40
RepairOrder Send Send 07.09.2016  12:07

This means that they are now shipped with UPS to my place
Shenzhen, China    07/09/2016    16:23    Collection Scan

EDIT.

I got my hashboards  back today.

So 15 days - China versus 17 days - Colorado.

This time the winner was China.
I got  even back today the replacements for this blade , which they refused to repair.

But today I have still one broken 550M blade from last ordered miner  ,  no visual injury

and one 650M blade, that works with 13 x "X" at freq 650 but works fine at freq 550M
Unfortunately, this 650M blade  is almost  out of  the warranty.   Shipped 2016-06-21

I do not even know ,  sent it for repairs  or not.

I do not even know ,  sent it for repairs  or not.

Tough call  but  if it shipped on the 21st you have 10 days to decide.

if you wait 6 days and another board goes on you  you can ship the two back to China and save on shipping.

So I would wait for 6 days then decide. Undecided

My second board is on its way back to  me.
I was able to do it all with in the USA but they did die a week apart  so two sets of shipping.

18 + 25 = 43
18 + 25 = 43 a total of 86 in usd.

If I had shipped to China  I would have spent 110 + 110 = 220  or 140 + 140 = 280  One is UPS price other is Fedex.

so China is  220 to 280 due to two shippings vs  USA  86 with 2 shippings.  That is a big difference in shipping cost.

I have yet to mount the first replacement board.  I plan to do both at the same time which should be monday.

I looked wrong.  My last 650M Antminer S9 shipping date was
2016-06-13

So i opened the ticket and sending him back. But I not send back second blade from this miner , with only 3 x "X" at freq 650 and no X at 600M and 550M

I think that 13 x X are too many.

Second board is on the truck and I will get it today.  this was a 650 board I wonder if replacement will be same.

I will bring gear to solar array on tues and set it back up.

I have 2 boards one is marked as a 650m v2 the other as a v4 but no freq it should be a 550m  but since the lowest rated board is a 550m  no marking of freq should not be an issue.

I will install on tues.

along with sloppy/finksy plates for dual dps- 2000 psu's

I will post a phot or two here with the new boards in just a minute or 2.

 Sad

How many watts are you at??

about 5600   Then tack on 400 for gable fans  so 6000 watts.

buysolar is running a sixth s-9 and 1 s-7  so 8300-8500 watts.

my deal is the 5 miners belong to me I provide 100% service parts repair cost.

The power  solar array is his he provide 100%  of that cost.

we split the coins.  on the five units.

so my power cost is constant it is 50%

so when we switch out gear he gets the better hand in the beginning of the new gear cycle.

As the gear ages I get the better hand in the latter part of the gear cycle.

What can go wrong for us.
gear breaking and not being covered via warranty is our biggest risk.

We need slow diff growth and stable gear.

A follow up on my s9's

I had purchased 6 of them

4 just always worked.

2 had multiple issues.

my newest one in august.

had a bad hashboard  it was replaced. for shipping fees only

it then tossed it controller .  I am still waiting for a replacement for this controller.

my bad batch 1 tossed a board it was replaced  for shipping fees.

it tossed a second board after warranty   I sent it in and I am still waiting for the verdict.

in the meantime I purchased spare controllers and fans.

So I am using one of the spare controllers.  in the batch from august.  but it would be nice to get the controller i sent in replaced under the warranty.

So  totals from 6 units are 3 dead boards and 1 dead controller

rma's sent back from bitmainwarranty

are 2 hashboards  for shipping

rma waiting for 1 dead controller

repair waiting for 1 dead hashboard.

So since august  purchase of the sixth s9   it has basically been a hassle still not fully fixed.

And I made 450+ in parts purchases  3 controllers 2 fans.

Recent Orders

Order   Date   Status   Total

#1344   October 4, 2016   Processing   $135.96 for 2 items   View --- 1 full 2 piece controller

#1269   September 24, 2016   Processing   $221.37 for 5 items--   View -2 fans 1 full controller 1 partial controller

#1245   September 21, 2016   Processing   $104.99 for 1 item   View-- 1 partial controller

all the controllers and fans above work  0 issues

I got so tired of running back and forth to the solar array I sold 3 s9's  and I am down to 3 s9's one of which belongs to buysolar as part of our deal.

So here I am with  lots of cheap power  most of it idle. 19 amps x 240 volts  used and 38 amps x 240 volts  idle

I am sitting on coins wondering if I should just switch to eth coin in the array.

I did not mind  gear breaking and bitmainwarranty was pretty helpful but  my last email from them was on Oct 7th:

Hello,

We have received a repair order in our Denver repair location. There was no current ticket number with the shipped order so i am just going to refer back to our most recent ticket here. Our tech will now begin diagnostic testing and once that process is complete i will have more information for you on repair. Please let me know if you have any questions until then.

Thank you.

I then got this one in my spam which I found today. it is dated Oct 12th

So  it is in Ukrainian or Russian

And it does not match the gear I sent in 1 hashbaord  1 controller.

However It does match  the first repair of two dead hashboards. Which is over and done.

So I am posting here and will attempt to follow up with Yoshi Goto later today.

As I am still out 1 controller and 1 650m hashboard.

It is obvious the multiple languages are causing confusion.

The repair techs  think it is for the first 2 bad boards.

This is for 1 bad board and 1 bad controller

the board is not under warranty.
the controller is under warranty.

it would be nice to get the gear back up to par.

I got that same Russian email a while back.  I had a repair maybe in June or July or something, and the email was regarding that.  I believe all it is saying is that the warranty on the repair work is ending.

Multi Language issues, we are working to fix that bug.  Sorry for that confusion.  When you send item for repair or diagnostic, please please each shipment, please email support@bitmainwarranty.com and obtain A TICKET NUMBER and include in the box.  Other wise, techs may confused with your previous repair request if they receive new parts for repair.

Example, you send in S9 hash PCB previously, got it repaired or replaced.  short time later, you send another S9 PCB, it may get over looked as when they look up repair request que, it shows, it is repaired already.

you will receive auto response with ticket number when you email support@bitmainwarranty.com for paid repair, or included repair if you purchased local service plan for 90-365 days.

techs are trying to speed up the turn around time as much as they can.  Some hash PCB when it shows not so much hope in repair success, another tech is spending time the next 2-3 days, looking at it as second opinions for higher repair chance!

Thank you!!

thanks for a reply here.

It is now the 23 rd and no follow up that I can find.

But I get so many emails I,may have missed one.

I will take a good look on Monday and post back.

It is one freq 650m board no warranty.

It is one unified one board controller from batch 10 under warranty.

Hopefully I can get some action this week.

I did find 3 emails in my spam section on my yahoo account.

yahoo.com is becoming a very old tired company but it is besides the point.

So I fucked up.

now the funny thing is I went to pay the bill for hashboard repair of my s9 650 m board and rma on my controller

bill is 90 + 25 shipping for the hashboard

bill is free for controller.    total of 115.  and bill is from 10-18-2016

so my fuckup cost me 9 days.  moron that I am.

but I took a good look at the bill and it is for an s7 hash board 700m Sad

So they fucked up.  While I feel better that I am not the only fuckup I am now waiting to get it corrected.
this is why  trying to be civil and polite is important. clearly below they made an error.

but my 2 errors were to not find their emails and I sent this order in without the best paperwork in the first place..

So  below is the newest issue which is at least somewhat my fault and somewhat their fault. This is an effort by me to be transparent and show that part of this is my fault . I am also sending emails to yoshi.

hey, Bitmainwarranty...Do you provide ANY warranty on your repairs, for example paid S9 board repairs?
What exactly you guarantee upon completion of the work?

HI Guys,

To ship item for repair, No Paperwork filling is needed, HOWEVER, please email support@bitmainwarranty.com the item description and what is wrong with it.

You will receive an email reply with the Ticket Number to include in the package to Denver for the repair.  Paid Repair is available for any Antminer users.

If our email does not arrive in time, please check your SPAM folder for just in case!!
