I think it is said best in the movie that I watched recently "The Evil that men do".
It is said best in the opening conversation between the kidnappers of a young girl.
Watch it to know what they say about religion and how it is for the stupid people of the world to believe and follow to make themselves feel a purpose in life. Without that, they are nothing.

All people are religious people in one way or another, even if it is only in their personal religion. Most people are also a farce. So, you are reasonably right when you say religion is a farce.

All people are religious people in one way or another, even if it is only in their personal religion. Most people are also a farce. So, you are reasonably right when you say religion is a farce.

I couldn't agree with you more on that assumption.
But you also know what they say about assuming one's own placement in the world as well.

People want to project what they are not - so they are fake.
The true ones are those that accept with who they truly are.
I think a realist said this.
That is not a religion because it is taking things for what they are in fact and not fiction. And not assuming what they truly appear to be. That in itself is the farce in life.

What would a person have to understand about God or a particular religion to determine that the religion in question was the right one? When you study the Christian religion in depth, and see the power and sense behind it, you might have an idea that Christianity is the best religion. Then when you sincerely ask God to reveal best one to you the, and He overwhelms your spirit with His Spirit, through the Christian religion, you almost don't have any choice.

Check the details about Christianity - where it came from, the unity of the Bible, the history of the nation of Israel, the prophecies in the Bible and their fulfillment, the sense of the Bible, how the Bible fits the facts and philosophies of life, the miracles through all of time, the eye witness reports, how the Holy Spirit  moves you when you do the in-depth study - and you will see that Christianity is the religion of God.

Can you see God in other things? Of course. The fact of the love of God is shown all over the place in the fact that He provides you with all the things of life that you need to live, and enjoyment as well, even though there are times of pain. Christianity answers the questions you have about God way better than any other religion... including the question of which religion God wants you to follow.

All the religions operate through faith. Even living life without a formal religion involves faith, because you don't know from one minute to the next, for a fact what will happen. So, life is lived on faith, just like following a religion is following it by faith.

Why do we live by faith? Because we are so mentally weak that our knowledge of the universe is incapable of seeing enough to know things for an absolute fact. Yet God holds nature to follow many of our more general predictions in life, so we can live in reasonable peace of mind about all the things that haven't happened yet.

I might agree to you on that one.  It is true that religion separates everyone and divided each one of us.  Because of different perspectives, beliefs, and teachings, every religion thinks that theirs are the best.  Having pushing all their ideas to anyone who do not believe make it hard for everyone to understand the stand of everyone.  The result, a never ending debate and worst war.  They said that if you want a peaceful environment, go to a place where there is no religion.
