Self-moderated thread for discussion/inquiry of MoneroClassic (XMC)...and now Z I O N.

It is apparent from the site: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1600638.0, that forum responses are being deleted.

Off topic posts herein, will be deleted by someone other than me.

No extensive discussion, repetitive exchanges or promotion of other coins -- please.

If you have ADD, I'm sure there is a thread for that.

Comments like Monero Classic sucks, is a scam, is great, to the moon, etc. are off topic, but free speech is free speech.

Please add to the discussion/inquiry. Dig deep into this XMC and post away.

Hostile trolling, "meme" pictures to attack or demean, especially by sock puppet accounts? I don't care. Did I mention free speech?

When quoting posts, please remove any large charts or other images unless the quoted post is at least one page old and please shrink (or remove) large images in replies in all cases...if you feel like it.

When I am speaking as the moderator, I will write in any color I choose and so can you.

I used some Smooth's ideas above.

See:

Smooth. "[XMR] Monero Speculation." [XMR] Monero Speculation. Smooth / Bitcoin Forum, 23 Apr. 2014. Web. 30 Aug. 2016. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=753252.0.

The Announcement:

On/about August 29, 2016, member "Dave Wilkinson" announced the formation of Monero Classic (XMC) here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1600638.0

Missing Information Pending?

As of this writing, there are no known:

  • Mining Pools
  • Mining Software Instructions
  • Simple Wallet Software Directions

Follow the Money:

"Dave Wilkinson" advised:
Quote
a total of 12,769,305 XMC will  be available in a 7 day crowdsale, you may participate with the link below. Approx ~100btc will be raised

If one multiplies ~100 BTC by the current price of ~ $574.00, that is approximately $57,400.

This is how much "Dave Wilkinson" is asking for, up front, before he will, allegedly, show you the product.

Rebuttal from Credible Source:

The same day "Dave Wilkinson" announced his new coin, fluffypony (well known and respected member; and dev from Monero) indicated that:

Quote
I do not endorse cryptocurrency crowdsales, as they end up as scams 99.9% of the time. In addition, part of the reason that Monero has become at all successful is because we had no crowdsale, no premine, no instamine.

To go to fluffypony's member info, follow this linK: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=94840

Plagiarism

If one compares the original Monero thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.0 to "Dave Wilkinson's" Monero Classic, one will observe that he/she simply did a lot of cut and pasting.

Another Inquiry Thread:

There is another thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1600647.20 which is addressing the concerns associated with the coin. It is: "Topic: XMC(monero classic) SCAM, don't invest it."

The Premine:

It is also concerning that "Dave Wilkinson" may be attempting to obscure the fact that this is a premine:

From Dave on/about August 30, 2016:

Quote
There will be no premine and a ledger of distributed bitcoin sales will be posted publicly on the main site and also a link in the ANN.

Crowdfund is for ongoing maintenance and active development.

...and the same day:

Quote
There is no premine.

...and a few minutes after that:

Quote
Let me correct that, there is no premine for the developer, there will however be a set premined amount for distribution.

12,769,305 XMC

Intentions?

From Dave on August 31, 2016:

Quote
There is a darknet exchange currently being purpose built with the sole currency to be used is Monero Classic, acting as a stabilization fund.

With top vendors on board from AlphaBay and Dream marketplace.

These sites are noted for unhindered trade, but also CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES.

Allegations of Fraud?

On/about August 31, 2016, member "M.minor" posted this is the Monero Classic thread:

Quote
C Complete BTC 0.02147624     2016-08-30 08:22:24    Address:

5c08c9bae0dccb0e787787343d4fd306669cf513cbebbb12bc6670d75507acdb  .
       Hello, I sent MY ACCOUNT
empty-explain your position, I understand that you are satisfied

Initial Conclusion:

Based upon the lack of information, such as mining pools, wallets, websites, plagiarism and a premine with the intent to collect money (BTC) in advance of services rendered, the apparent obfuscation by "Dave Wilkinson," that this was or was not a premine, the alleged purpose of said premine, the alleged design use of the coin for the Darknet, the lack of a core dev team, the implication that this is a one man or one woman operation; it is asserted that this coin has all the earmarks of a fraudulent enterprise and/or one specifically designed to assist criminal enterprises such as Alphabay.

U P D A T E

The new name for Monero Classic is....ZION

Beware...all the same earmarks of previous coin -- many concerned that this remains a SCAM.

Announced September 1, 2016...

The NEW Link is: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1604526.0

Donate your hard earned money here: http://project-zion.com/

COMPARE

Please see the original Monero Classic "locked" thread for comparison. (All links above.)

Both the new thread for ZION and the old Monero Classic thread are nearly identical.

Remember:

Ask yourself -- where is the coin? Before you invest.

These types of scammers generally create what are called "sockpuppet" accounts (false identity accounts) to make it appear as if many people are excited about the project.

Typically, these scammers are after the naive and yes, suckers.

Simple and low-end scam, is very likely same as mentrio scammer, or oracle scammer dev.

I don't see why monero would be forked when there are also coins who tried it such as dash and the rest of those who wants untraceable coin.
and why do an ICO, i would probably invest of he hacked xmr and got tons of it just like how ETC emerged.

Monero Classic is legitimate, but not in that way. This guy is just a random guy with no talent that sells a name. Except when you come with a totally new code, a solid team and so, you can't request money before doing the work.

So far:

No verification that Monero Classic is legitimate.

Inquiring Minds want to know...

So many anti-XMC ideas appeared, be carefull to invest to this coin. However, in contrast, XMR has a consolidated support at 0.015btc, next test is 0.0158. It still be in time to long for XMR if its price overcomes this test price.

If you have seen the Mentrio scam, everything is similar. By the way, why even we need the classic. Was there a fork?
