Now it's the US's turn. One day is left for decision of Senate Banking Commitee on crypto regulations. This is going to be deciding moment for crypto community. Does the Trump office have influence on them?
I think the US they are mainly concerned about ICO's and lets face it there is a fair share of scam ones out there. Regulation can also bring legitimacy as well. I am not too concerned about these senate meetings.

Now that almost all crypto assets are cheaper, it is easier for the masses to adopt and use it in their daily activities . So I got to stack up more KMD as this could be the cheapest that can get nowadays.

Agreed. This is fantastic, possibly one-time opportunity to buy.

P-Trump withdraws as a candidate in the node election! I've come to a mutually beneficial arrangement with one of the current testnet node operators, so I wont be running in the election myself. Please withdraw my name from the election site.
My KMD is currently 'unattached' for the upcoming notary election. I haven't sold a single coin since the last election, so with interest my stake should be about the same (2.7%). If you're considering running in the notary election for one of the available spots, and you want to discuss options that may secure one of the lucrative notary node positions let me know. My previous arrangement has expired. Hi I'm a notary node operator, my 3 nodes are reellected because them notarize fine. I can manage your nodes if you are elected. With your 2,6 millions KMD could elected 4 node. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks

Fill your bags full of KMD now with this price range – it won't last long. KMD is a top 15 coin, now it's 48th (so unnatural). We are not as far as we may think from ATH. Yes.

OK, call me stupid and confused....
If GuyB is "managing" and running the notary nodes for GuyA, why wouldn't we just vote for GuyB?
|
If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer. Always be on the look out, because you never know when you'll be stalked by hit-men that eat nothing but cream cheese....

How many notary operators are paying other people to run their nodes now?

My previous arrangement has expired.
What % did you get last year for your votes?

If GuyB doesn't pay for VOTES, but GuyC does, then GuyA will send his VOTES to GuyC, or GuyD if he's offering a better deal. Last year was an anomaly, not many candidates, this time around there'll be a lot more. The thing I want to know is do the the top30 nodes from last year ever face elections again, or if they continue being in the top half do they avoid elections until they drop to the bottom half. So, in short, the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor.

The chart at any time shows us that things can get interesting, current prices will not hold, the need for KMD will increase!

and my node would probably be quite unreliable, most likely the worst, but I'm not selling KMD anytime soon, so my crappy node would be in the bottom 30 every election, but still get elected every time.

I'm not sure what voting procedure we'll use this time, but I'll offer my thoughts here.
Call for nominations, then let each candidate publish their KMD ballot address.
Then do a snapshot of KMD and distribute VOTE 1:1 based on KMD holdings.
Then allow a few days for community to send their VOTE to registered candidates i.e each VOTE can only be sent once.
The above procedure limits any VOTE speculation to KMD blockchain, and that's OK IMO, if someone wants to buy VOTES pre election then they should do that by buying KMD before the snapshot for VOTES.
Direct VOTE trading is something we should avoid, crypto people understand the legitimacy of 'skin in the game' that comes directly from bitcoin PoW, but we all know the likelihood for speculation and 'games' if people can trade VOTE directly. Just take a KMD snapshot, distribute VOTE, and allow one VOTE send only.
I think you have summarized it pretty well. And we need to have a userfriendly GUI, so as many people as possible can join the elections.

I did see GUI screenshots, looked good, and really all the GUI needs to do is allow people to send VOTE to the candidate's address. basically sending funds is all that is needed to vote and the blockexplorer rich list is the realtime tally. I hope for a high voter turnout as if there isnt, the next year VOTE will be allowed to be bought and sold. Also, it is important to have the best notaries running nodes for the security of KMD and for scalability of all the upcoming assetchains

If a notary receives roughly 1500 KMD per month, then 80-90% of that for running a complicated masternode without needing any skin in the game is a pretty good deal imo.
A NEM SuperNODE requires 3mil XEM, a DASH masternode 1000 - do the numbers, a lot of skin in the game!
P-Trump makes some sense here, if more candidates than vacant places how else to decide, everyone likes the 1500 KMD per month, and I see many notaries run more than one.
