*The Official Litecoin Branding Campaign: "Litecoin, the gold to Bitcoin's attempt at gold."

Seriously... Am I the only one that actually sends/receives BTC and LTC on a daily basis? I refuse to use any wallet except the core wallet and BTC is heading towards 60GB (making the sync process annoying) and confirm times take up to 40+ min. Uhhhhhhh, are we going to just ignore this or..?

I also notice that on some occasions, but Bitcoin is now so huge and many more coming in to use Bitcoin but I never imagine litecoin to replace Bitcoin in it's standing as the number one crypto currency, the board will do something about this, they will not let litecoin get past Bitcoin.

LTC doesn't need a rebrand campaign, its marketing is good enough, they need to have more development to gain yheir values. Campaign doesn't promote it at all

But it is quite true the clones of any product can't reach the same level as the original one and i think same goes with bitcoin & litecoin. However we can't ignore the fact litecoin is quite faster as well as has strong community behind it.

All is due to blocksize. Blocks are full in Bitcoin, so there's a queue for sending. That's a phenomenon that do not happen to Litecoin because it is less mainstream. This problem will soon be corrected with the new updates to Bitcoin Core.

The block time is how long it should take to confirm a transaction, Bitcoin has a block time of something like 15mins but the difficulty is so high that miners can take ages, maybe even an hour to find a single block if they are unlucky.

Not sure but Litecoin is 2.5 mins or something really little and it has less miners the difficulty is realtivly less giving miners less chance to get unlucky and make you wait for an hour just to get into a block.

same - never hardly use BTC - mostly transfer in LTC or doge if the vendor accepts them.

LTC bringing optional privacy in the next 12 months too.

In General optional privacy is no privacy at all as all outputs using "privacy features" can easily be deciphered from those not using those features.

Default privacy features always on with the option of being transparent (like a view key in monero) is one way to approach this.

Litecoin can rebrand itself as much as it wants. It's about as dead as the dodo and that's not very likely to change in the future either.

lets rename it dogecoin

You win  Cheesy

The idea of Optional privacy has me nervous..

We need to look at the practical reality of it.
A coin with an *optional* privacy feature with it will be deemed an "ANON" coin.
And as soon as you go down that road you NOW have enemies !
Such as world govt's will want to break the system etc.
People *WILL* use it to buy Meth and Grenades online etc..

And we already have had for 6/7 years the world thinking Bitcoin is used on Silk Road to buy Crack + AK47's

I hope the LTC guys will see the potential ramifications of their actions.. if choosing ANON features.

On the flip side i have a suggestion.

What is the barrier to Litecoin ? BITCOIN !
It can't beat Bitcoin (which is why people want to add anon features to LTC) ..to try and beat BTC.
So..
Want to beat BTC ?
Want something different to set you apart from the other 6,000 ANN topics ?
Want to get REAL adoption ?

Rather than making the coin anonymous.. make it the opposite.. more transparent and compliant with regulations.

Just think of it guys.. want a coin adopted ?
Be the VERY FIRST coin EVER in the history of crypto to be GOVERNMENT FINANCIAL REGULATIONS FRIENDLY !

I guarantee this would put Litecoin first in line when it comes to world adoption with Banks and payment processors etc.
It would also spring board business into using it by providing the security that is afforded by financial regulations.

Is some business going to trust stolen GOX Bitcoins ?
Or trackable coins from a new coin ? That is ANTI-ANON.

I get the whole rebellious decentralized free market spirit of things.. i support that !
But we need to be realistic here guys.
We need to break through the adoption barrier wall !
We have to start somewhere and we need to make some progress.. so far we have done squat since 2013.

Seriously think about the ANTI-ANON coin idea guys.

Early Cuyler could use LTC to buy another Truck for his Truck Boat Truck !
Or maybe he just bought Truck Coin and then had it "rebranded" to HYP Coin ? Sorry i got mixed up LOL

can anyone drop the link as to where the information is from? I actually thought they've rebranded years ago and that they were branded as "the chinese coin".

rebranding doesn't always work without new features added to it. I wonder what it could be as most of the newer coins today had already claimed everything.

apparently you are the only one who sends/receives bitcoin (or at least claims to do it) because so far nobody has pointed out that if you really have regular bitcoin transactions you would know that with normal amount of fee the average time for confirmation is in matter of minutes mostly less than 5

also again if you really was using bitcoin core you would have known that the blockchain size is 81.3 GB right now

Masochistic bastards LOL
I always liked using Multibit ..no 80gb chain on my drive  Grin
Funny enough though i had the LTC + Doge standard wallets too
and both of those two would take forever to download and update.
A big problem if you leave them shut off for months at a time.
vs Multibit for BTC which would have you updated in couple minutes max.

Yeah i had some Doge before.. i was trying out a gambling site faucet for them before.
i was trying a BTC one and the web site owner launched a Doge version of it i wanted to try it out also.
This was a loooong time ago though.
I'd be lucky if i was even playing around with 50 cents worth of Doge coins LOL

I don't see any articles or news about litecoin has rebranding? Do i miss something here? Or it is just another hoax for litecoin believers? Can you send me any supporting facts if this one ia true so i can read to know more about it, its interesting one if devs will do some major updates to lift up their coin and make ways to surpass those newly thrend coins nowadays.
