so far they are only interested in the blockchain technology, and i think it's because they have no use for bitcoin since they can't control it. but if it's in their interest they will adopt.

Do not confuse Bitcoin and Blockchain based technology with each other. Banks are not interested in Bitcoin, because it is a technology that are in direct competition to their business model. They are focusing on improving their systems with the help of Blockchain technology, but they are not using the Bitcoin token.
These people saw a opportunity to take a disruptive technology not protected by any intellectual property rights and to use this to streamline their business and to make even more money for their shareholders. Nobody can stop them from doing this, but the clients still have a choice to stay with them, or to deal directly with Bitcoin. ^hmmmm^

I think it would be a good thing if Banks adopted Bitcoin, although I doubt that would ever happen. It would definitely benefit Bitcoin in number of ways. The whole no banks, no government, anonymous thing is not achievable. Bitcoin is a like a naive kid with these great ideals, wanting to change the world. However, if Bitcoin keeps fighting the system, eventually it will become the very thing it originally sought to change in the world.

First, I don't know that bitcoin give us exactly 83% of privacy protection. Where did you get that? To answer your question if I will be happy if banks will adopt bitcoin (if it will happen), well I really don't know yet. However, when I'm thinking of it, I'm slightly thinking that the possibility of being controlled will be there. A part of my reason liking bitcoin is because I have the freedom, I can do whatever I want with my coins, I can manage it by myself and if it will be controlled, I think it won't be good.

What intervention of banks that will be harm you? Banks will just make some adjustment with bitcoin and blockchain technology to adopt it.

yes i agree but also i do believe that banks will eventually adopt bitcoin. look at coinbase right now, it is a bank by definition it may not have all their functionality like giving loans, giving profit on the deposit, ... but it is a bank because you are handing them full control over your bitcoins (money) just like what you do with banks and they are free to do whatever they want with that stash. so in the future i believe more and more services like this will start and banks will get on board as long as there is a profit.

There is no point in hoping for banks to adopt Bitcoin as it simply isn't realistic. That being said, I don't even want banks to adopt Bitcoin. People are happy to be the owner of their money for once, why should they jeopardize that and make use of a bank holding people's coins? 1BTC under your own control is worth twice as much as 1BTC under the control of a bank, exchange, or whatever else.

It's not gonna happen as banks love to control (centralization) , like charging high fees from their customers and ask for your real information's , all of those things defeats the whole purpose of using BTC in the first place so unless banks change the way they think , this is not going to happen.

If bitcoin becomes a huge success, for sure banks would like to have a share of that pie. How they are going to add bitcoin to their services is something that might be hard to make. But if they think that it is profitable enough for them, they might find ways to do so.

If all banks are using bitcoin, that is great news for me, bitcoin price probably might gonna be increase and all bitcoin holder will be happy, because are waiting to sell their coins at the price they've been waiting for. That is only if bank owner is one of the bitcoin user but if they're the one who will hold our coin that's not good.

The bank can only adopt the benefits and advantage of bitcoin but not to infer other's bitcoin holder. If that happen the meaning of bitcoin will be change at all it will not be decentralized anymore instead it will be centralize, and that is not a good sign to all bitcoin enthusiast.

I think its gonna be a good thing. More people will be able to trust and consider using bitcoin, more merchandisers will start allowing bitcoin as their payments, people will invest more in bitcoin and maybe it will make it grow more and increase its value as well. It would be considered a lot more reliable than it is now. Though it will have its downs as well, as banks will be able to tax you, and track you as well. It will lessen the amount of anonymity from this world, but I feel the advantages are more than its cons.

if banks decide to start using bitcoin and getting involved with it, then i guess that would mean bitcoin has already reached the mass adoption stage and also the government has already made it legal and official currency.
so in this case i don't think it matters what banks do by that time since bitcoin would be already big.

Bank will never gonna accept bitcoin direct deposit or withdraw for sure as they can't track these transactions with bitcoin. However bank have already started accepting deposit/withdraw through coinbase like exchangers/wallets in some countries which can be considered as they are being quite attracted towards bitcoin.
But banks are looking to implement blockchain tech rather than bitcoin directly in their regular financial transaction which will surely gonna be centralized blockchain.

One of reason use bitcoin is to prevent bank and fiat, so i think bank adopt/use bitcoin is dumb idea and bank is the opposite of bitcoin. So, i think it would be bad thing if bank were to use/adopt bitcoin unless they just act as gateway to accept bitcoin or make buy/sell bitcoin become easy.
Some major banks already got their own bitcoin developed. A copy of the current bitcoin network, but then their gave it their own twist. Like OP stated i find it funny they first were opposed to it, by claiming it was money used by criminals, yet they did do the exact same thing.

Bitcoin is actually the end of central banking. The only way I see banks implementing Bitcoin is covertly, to hide their assets from the government and launder money.

If Banks gets into Bitcoin, I would jump ship. They have managed to f#$% up the world economy with reckless loans and fractional reserve banking.
We do not need them to charge excessive fees for things we already do at virtually zero fees. Mike Hearn and R3 and the banks behind this are now
direct competition for Bitcoin. Let's just do our own thing.. and leave the banks to steal more money from people who wants to follow them like
sheep.

It's not as bad as it sounds as currently, the state of bitcoins is quite bad with Government considering it almost illegal and involving it with drugs and terrorism and then exchanges like Bitflex getting hacked. We should see the positive side too of banks adopting bitcoins.

in case banks get on board with bitcoin and bitcoin stays the same in sense of decentralization I think it may affect the price a lot. If banks adopt the blockchain technology and create their own currency, it will have a very bad effect on bitcoins and the price will drop drastically. If banks adopt bitcoins as it is, it will affect the price but not that much as the price would be stable. It's the matter now that bitcoins are popular but we need to understand the fiat is still the first choice even on this forum.

One of reason use bitcoin is to prevent bank and fiat, so i think bank adopt/use bitcoin is dumb idea and bank is the opposite of bitcoin. So, i think it would be bad thing if bank were to use/adopt bitcoin unless they just act as gateway to accept bitcoin or make buy/sell bitcoin become easy.
yeah, i use bitcoins in order to avoid the banks and their huge fees, i just dont like it to be honest and i think it would be great if it was replaced

I don't like this idea at all and I think there is no need for that,we already have wallets for this and we can secure them with many security features and also there no body else can know how much bitcoins we are holding so privacy is most secured,we are the only one who controls our bitcoins and we dont have to depend on the banks.

In my opinion, it is inevitable that the financial systems in place today will (eventually) become better equipped to handle and process transactions, exchanges, and storage of digital/cryptographic currencies. However, we are very much still in the early stages of this technology, so there are going to be obstacles and stumbles along the way.

Banks will adapt. We are just too aggressive to make it happen. We just wait, bitcoin is still new for me and it needs some trust for them to partake in this certain field. I would be very much happy if they include this in their industry. Banks can do privacy's also and with them included in the circulation it will be easier for other people to conduct transactions e.g. exchanging it to fiat.

That's true here as we already use net banking or debit/credit cards issued by banks and if bitcoins too are adopted, we'll be able to pay in bitcoins too. It will be like another trading account in addition to demat and other investment accounts and hence it will be a best thing for traders to buy/sell bitcoins easily.

If bank start using it then it is game over cause banks always try to take advantage and legally milk people as much as possible. even worse case would be if banks made up their own cryptocurrency and get way more famous because they already have majority of fiat and then bitcoin would be overtaken and the whole idea behind crpytocurrency would be destoryed.

maybe in a few country, bitcoin is intregated with the bank but in other country its not yet integrated. the banks don't know about bitcoin, i mean the don't really know what is bitcoin for sure, maybe the bank only know the outside of bitcoin and not the inside.
i think the bank will not integrated with bitcoin in this year, and i don't know when. but if the bank adopt bitcoin technology, especially in my country and my city, i think it will be good for us, bitcoin community, to use bitcoin in wide area and who knows this will make many store online and store offline that will receive bitcoin as their payment.

Well, I agree it will impact bitcoin both in a negative and a positive way if banks adopt it "Doubt that will happen anytime soon though", Positively the price will improve and it would encourage a wider portion of population to engage in BTC's, as well as possible interest in BTC for depositers. Negatively I think it would take a big portion of privacy and decentralization of bitcoin.

I often find this kind of question about a bank with Bitcoin. And I think that it's a very bad idea because Bitcoin is supposed to be decentralized, so it won't make sense if Bitcoin used in a Bank.

hey, kindly explain how you arrived at 83% protection to privacy.? I think banks will not adopt bitcoin just like that. If you meant by adopting the technology behind bitcoin that is block chain, then yes not just the banks but almost everybody will adopt block chain in future. And bitcoin is definitely a good thing! Block chain can simply change everything we see in present world as it's applications are huge.

first of all bank will never accept bitcoin. because both are completely different things. and banks don't even like bitcoin. even in some countries bitcoin is illegal. but if by chance it happens then it will be very bad. because then banks will controll everyone's wallets, and we can't be our own banks anymore.

this time in my country no one BANK which accept bitcoin. I think it would be quite difficult. but the development of the current bitcoin is so good, in my opinion can make bitcoin accepted by the bank in the future. bitcoin just takes time to get into the economic system of the bank.

Yeah it's very true. I also don't see that user's bank in receiving bitcoin is an impact that is good for the growth of the bitcoin. because the bank will definitely do the policy can no longer we did previously, because the bank is central to distribute money and data center

I think that commercial banks sure will adopt in some way, but i doubt about central governments banks coz their power is based on exclusive emission rights and bitcoin is decentralized, no one wants to lose thiier power, so in some countries they will even try to stop crypto currencies

Banks will not adopt Bitcoin. At least not directly. The reason for that is pretty simple. They can not control it. However I could imagine them issuing certificates which are connected to Bitcoin and where they could try to influence the price of Bitcoin with it.Similar to so many gold certificates floating around and exist 300 times more than real gold. So if banks try to get involved with Bitcoin in any way I'm pretty sure it's not for good.

Banks adopting bitcoins would be the best option for us as we'll get the security that our coins are in safe hands and the rate of scamming that goes on here will be reduced to a great extent. I would be happy to keep my money with a bank rather than use an online wallet and living with the fear of it getting hacked or stolen.

you are right, though i doubt that banks would take risks and start using bitcoins because they would be afraid that people will not like it as bitcoin is a decentralized currency

I don’t think that Banks are going to adopt Bitcoin. Bitcoin is completely opposing banks with decentralisation. It makes no sense for banks to adopt a decentralised cryptocurrency. After all, they do run on completely different ideas. It is like making friends with your archenemy!

Not a good thing. They will find some way to corrupt it, and it is going to get taxed, which is going to be a terrible thing, and they are going to restrict a lot of the freedoms that are brought along with what we have right now. Privacy and anonymity would definitely also be harder to maintain, and chances are there would be more tracking and so happening.

It won't be a good idea as we are using bitcoins because it is anonymous (we save taxes) and because of the volitality. If banks adopt this currency, we'll get a stable price and it won't be like a demat account where the share prices depend on the market but it will be in complete control of the Government.

Do you know the transaction charges in bank is how much, if bitcoin is used by bank then they will also charge you for every transaction. i think you have never used your bank properly. Why bitcoin is getting so importance is due to bank charges high.

Here in our country, the bitcoin wallet can have bitcoins through banks. We will just select the bank that we wish to deposit our currency and without any fees. Then when the money was already in your wallet then you can convert it into bitcoins. We can also pay our bills like utilities and credit cards with bitcoins. So I think it is allowed here in our country. They encourage people to use this wallet by giving some rebates of 5% up to 10%.

I don't see banks adopting bitcoin directly, blockhain is where they are headed.
The only way I see that banks can have an impact on bitcoin is if they blocked withdrawals from exchanges like Coinbase and the others, but there are ways around that so really I don't think banks will change their ways to accommodate bitcoin.

i think i will be better if bank will accept btc .if bank will acceot btc then we don't need to use escrow system and loss in ttamsaction like 1% to buy sell at exchange site . this will be reduce into 0.5% or less .in this way everyone has the better opportunity for trading with less transactions loss
Do you know the transaction charges in bank is how much, if bitcoin is used by bank then they will also charge you for every transaction. i think you have never used your bank properly. Why bitcoin is getting so importance is due to bank charges high. so far that i know about transaction fee in bank is high in my country, because i remember when i want to make withdrawal from my paypal to my account bank. its like about every $100 withdrawal need transaction fee at least $10, its just transaction fee, i don't know about the other fee and its really need almost 4 days before i can receive in my account bank. but with bitcoin, i only sell it with my friend, then he transfer the money, all finish in just 5 minutes and don't need to worry about something and the best part is the transaction fee is only $1 every $100 in bitcoin

There are a lot of banks that are using the bitcoin right now and there are a couple that want to start a coin, its pretty insane that they first hated on it and now want their own coin. Its a sort of funny, the bitcoin is getting bigger and bigger and this is a big sign that it is getting bigger.

Headline and your topic have nothing in common. Headline that some banks, or all these banks now using bitcoin, but then you talk about privacy and prediction about future. OP need to think again, and maybe change something here, cause this have no sense to me. What ever happen with bitcoin and banks will be seen in future, for now things are like they are. Everyone is checking bitcoin, and banks will try to tale some part in all this. How and when nobody know, they can easily make new coin, they have money for that, and they have means to push their coin into big markets.

If we will have bitcoin debit card and will have a similar system to buy bitcoins then I think we do not need any bank as we are happy with that available system of bitcoin, as with debit I am very happy and I do not use my banks any more to withdraw my money.
Bitcoin has already atm machines where you can people easily withdraw or shop with your money , but im not trusting this kind of activity because for me using this and if the back or debit card hacked then your bitcoin or log in information in bitcoin would be stolen tooo and that RIP for us.

Why bitcoin is getting so importance is due to bank charges high. The bank just charge me $0.3 for every transaction is i made, and where is the differences?in bitcoin you will get a charge in every your transaction too. At least my wallet don't have a monthly fee and well, using or not my account, at the end of the month, I'll have to pay that thing... Banks make a lot of money exploring users...

Er.. It might be good for some people, but... Isn't privacy the point of having bitcoins? There definitely would not be privacy when making transactions through banks.

I don’t think that Banks are going to adopt Bitcoin. Bitcoin is completely opposing banks with decentralisation. It makes no sense for banks to adopt a decentralised cryptocurrency. After all, they do run on completely different ideas. It is like making friends with your archenemy! I agree. Bitcoin is supposed to be "freedom money". If it is going to be acquired by banks then it should not be called "bitcoin" but it should be called "bankcoin" instead.

Now will you be happy if banks around the word adopt bitcoin?
yes I would be happy. that's good, because it will be easier and safer to sell and buy bitcoin with fiat money and don't worry if you're abroad.

Mostly banks are corrupted and greedy structures willing power...centralisation of power in their hands.. banks philosophy must transform to adopt bitcoin. I think the first thing they would want to achieve is to takeover bitcoin or put it under control in some way

You have to agree that bitcoin is anonymous and that is called privacy buddy. For your information bitcoin is good to get in citi banking services. It's just a plan starts soon with in 5 years bitcoin is a payment mode citi bank services.

I think it is good couple just like here that we can deposit and withdraw our bitcoin in atm banks. they are already adopted here from some banks.. But you can be still anonymous here but the problem you can not withdraw your bitcoins in banks but they are giving some alternative to withdraw with additional payment here in my country,

Although bitcoin is anonymous, I will be happy if Banks adopt bitcoin because i don't use bitcoin for illegal activity, of course it will be a good for growing bitcoin and another cryptos coins because it will make bitcoin more popular and there are many people who use it.

every one could start to adopt btc, also government. This is a rule of "freedom" , if you start to exclude a group of people you can't call this as "free". They can study a new btc just for their purpose ( mortages, loans, title exchanges) without using any actual blockchain developed.

I think bitcoin will not be acquired by anyone, including the bank, it was clear that bitcoin is decentralization. just because a company adopts bitcoin, it does not mean they can take over bitcoin and become possessed them? lol bitcoin system is already set for decentralization

No I don't think. As already some of private as well as government banks are started to test blockchain technology for giving better banking services with transparency and security. Citibank have already announced about own cryptocoin launching to market. Even many domestic banks also trying it. But it can matter with governance as Bitcoin is decentralized currency. And if banks goes decentralized then it will be harmfull for economy o particular country.
