It appears Betcoin is pretending to be 'acquired' by someone - and will likely be blaming any stolen money or other player issues on the 'previous owners'.

Truly disgusting.

Sadly, that was VERY obvious when they made their announcement.  The fact that they aren't even trying to hide what's going on by posting under the SAME SCREEN NAME is hilarious.  Honestly, they have the utmost contempt for their user base.  I'm still waiting for any loyal Betcoin Soldier to explain how they can rectify Betcoin's actions.

Remember, they are stealing $600,000 of player funds right in front of your eyes.  And they aren't even trying to hide it.

Very true, and I cannot say that I'm truly surprised by any of this.  We shall see how this develops in the next couple of days before closing, but I do not see them paying any of this out... I would be astounded if they did.  Hoping they do and we all have a Merry Christmas!

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

They went ahead and stole all of the money.  Confirmed it multiple places.  Looks like they've pissed off a LOT of poker players who are going to be attempting to go after them via the legal system.  I doubt the flimsy "We sold to a mystery company" lie is going to hold up.  Hope nobody affiliated with Betcoin is currently living in the US or they are facing some serious federal time.

Are you talking about the BBJ people were complaining about or did they steal funds on the site too? And if you mean the BBJ, that definitely belongs to the players, though not sure how they can make things right anymore since it went on for so long I think.

Yes, they have stolen the player-funded BBJ, in addition to the bonus' in everyone's account.  They have admitted to this.

It would be foolish to think that any other money on the site is safe.

They can make things right by paying out the BBJ to the players on the site in some way.  Tons of B&M poker rooms do this every year when they are changing promos.

All those who use the service of the publicly proven betcoin.ag scam deserve to get defrauded.

I can only shake my head if someone drives with 120 into a street curve and thereafter complains that he had an accident! I mean if you play at a scammy site you will get scammed!

Also, 42 BTC jackpot is nothing compared to the Betcoin.ag extort 500 Bitcoins Jackpot winner for “settlement”

I'm reading different statements. one are saying that betcoin.ag poker is sold to somebody, other are saying that the poker is closing.

What is the real deal here? You both are must be more informed than other random users.

I don't understand how Betcoin can still be oppenned after all this time!

It's been... Three years? Two? I don't know seems ages to me. But I don't understand people who still play there. Sure they are great at marketing and avoiding any kind of direct conflict and all... But there have been enough proofs of their willing cheats. They scam when you hit the big jackpot and the poker rooms have been extremely suspicious for a long time.
Anyway, at this point I'd say that if you get scammed by betcoin, you kinda earned it. It was not cool for the first ones but now we all know how to handle that, just don't go there. And I'd bet that's why they're closing, reputation is too heavy to lift, better start again with a brand new name :/

All you have to do is read.  They lied about selling to someone in order to justify closing their poker room and stealing all of the money.

Hey do you guys remember when Betcoin lied about being sold in order to steal the 43BTC BBJ, and then lied about paying it out once they reviewed the hand histories, and then stalled everyone out for a month, and then said they were going to reopen their poker room once their time ran out to stall people for another week?

You know, it's the same company that allowed their top affiliate (who they paid way more than every other affiliate in order to force people to sign up under him) to steal from his players and then allow him to cash the money out and never pay anyone.

You know, it's the same company that ran tons of satellites to Betcoin-only tournaments and then cancelled the tournaments and didn't refund the players the value of the tickets they accumulated or give them any other tournaments to use them in.

You know, it's the same company that overraked every cash game pot for 6 weeks and then "reviewed the hand histories" (sound familiar?) and then refused to pay anyone back for the money they overraked.

Do you think they are still working with Limestone Networks?  Because it seems like that would be a federal crime.

Yeah, I believe everyone think it that way, and that is also the very much possible thing that they might do. Are he going to pay everyone about this 43 btc on people? I do not think it is really worth to bring this thing back again, this will only let their thread being come up again and again. I suggest to bury this thing over and hope there will be no such site anymore. I regret to participate every game that they held

They use a Curacao license.

Also, if you consider that all WPN skins have a license, WPN pretty sure does not cooperate with a poker room without a license, because that would put them at legal risk.
