The same moment Satoshi uploaded the source code in to sourceforge and github he literally washed his hands of any claims and left after a while because open source community is basically donation to the public, he donated an experimental software and from there it's really up to the people how to use it, however if he could stay active while hidden many of issues we face today would've been resolved much faster and with a better faith.

For example what would be of America if their founding fathers were alive today? I bet they'd be already assassinated by extremists.

and also don't forget about the licensing that bitcoin uses, it is open source and the license gives up ownership.
and besides i don't get why people these days think Satoshi is some kind of god and his word is the final word! he is just a good developer if he is only one person and not a group of developers in 2008.

It is a reasonable thing and everyone will certainly get it when someone becomes a valuable or contribute well to them from a variety of fields. Well Satoshi's anonymity has mystified Bitcoin and I think that has contributed positively to people's crave for more information about this cryptocurrency and the blockchain technology. Should he decide to reveal his identity today I believe there could be some consequences for both Bitcoin and himself: first I think the governments might pursue him to declare him s intentions for this technology and then eliminate him afterwards and secondly there will be a major boost for Bitcoin in terms of popularity and price especially if the governments succeed in eliminating him.

these are all speculation and no one know the reality about satoshi, that who was he or she and from where she belong etc. i think he will never like to reveal himself and i think he will be doing that for security reason.

Exactly it will be too risky for his life even though Bitcoin might benefit from his presence because a lot of interest and attention will be focused on Bitcoin if he shows up.

I thinkwe will not see never any proves about who is Satoshi. At cryptocurrencies, where the creator is known, or simply hiding behind a pseudonym, but continues to develop, there is always the credibility of the developer in some form. I'm sure he destroyed the keys, destroyed all passwords to the accounts and all sorts of the ability ever to prove that he is Satoshi. In addition, this is just common sense, if you want to stay alive after this creation.

We have just problems if Satoshis reveals, as most countris conside it ilegal, and not supporting, jail should be the place that would waiting him at this moment. Besides those huge problem some people would left if they see the creator is a bad person or some crazy person, the media would attack him too deeply, besides the fact that someone would get interested into their coins instant.

We really need him, community needs him badly, there is no need for him to show his face and become a showman just becomes active here in this forum or the new forum where they can ensure the total security and anonymity by spending 1BTC from the first 100 mined blocks so that we know it's not an impostor.

I think no one will believe because there are so many people that try to tell they are Satoshi Nakamoto and they're not. But if he really reveals himself, we need him to help the people responsible for making a solution about the bitcoin's problem.

It would of course be huge, but the size and nature of the impact would have everything to do with his actions after revealing himself.

Given his long silence despite the increasingly tense scaling debate, I suspect he would remain neutral on bitcoin politics, saying something along the lines of, "If you want to know where I stand, go re-read the original white paper."

Of course, I can imagine a scenario where he comes out and says, "Bitcoin Core [or unlimited or classic or whatever] has the best solution," that would almost certainly tip things instantly and massively in favor of whomever he endorsed. Given the inventiveness and originality of the original bitcoin concept and early development, however, I suspect his solution would be some heretofore unguessed approach to the issues facing the modern day bitcoin movement.

I do not think lots will invest in him.  There are lots of flaw in his creation that the current group of devs are fixing.  Aside from that I am sure that lots of traders will worry because there is a chance of those 1m of bitcoin be dumped in the market.  A possible affect on price to decline.  Depends on how severely manipulators FUD the market and spread wrong gossip and idea.

I think there is no reason for any government to put him in jail in the first place. Also I don't think if Satoshi reveals himself it will affect the price of Bitcoin in any way directly. But indirectly it might affect the price if there will be a lot of news about him around and thus more people will know about Bitcoin and more people will start using it. Then the price of BTC will rise.

It might so. If Satoshi gets revealed, then I believe that there would be massive hype all over from mainstream media, to everyday people talking about the digital currency and investing into it massively. But there could also exist the possibility for governments to pursue Satoshi for taxes, and other purposes as most of them would want to cease BTC from existing.

Nowadays, Bitcoin is doing fine even without Satoshi. It is being actively developed and maintained by its own community, which is a good thing and will help it maintain its place for years to come by. Just sharing my thoughts.

Everybody is searching for truth, thats a human nature, always asking something they don't know, So if one day you know Satoshi identity what will you do? So let's make this scenario, Nakamoto reveals himself..... So what will happen? I think Bitcoin will still be Bitcoin when Nakamoto reveals himself. It will remain as a code. What won't be the same is how we perceive when we know the truth. How we react. I don't actually know the true reason why Satoshi hide himself, but if he did. Will people still believe, will people still have faith in its potential. This is just my speculations. Bitcoin is still running  and we are all enjoying the ride.
What is the destination?

I think even the founder/creator of bitcoin reveal himself in our time now, I don't think it can give an effect to increase the value of bitcoin, because without him bitcoin became popular because of the high demand of the users all around the world. Though, Mr. Nkamoto Satoshi was really landmark the famous one creator of digital world of currency. This was just my opinion and point of view every one is free to give their side of view in this matter.

 I think it might actually strengthen it because then it would have a spokesperson on it's positives that it can do for humanity as a whole instead of the opposite that it has befallen it  with all the bad press that it's gotten in the past when it was first introduced.
