Until now, my government still banned bitcoin. I don't know when this happens will be end. If bitcoin approve, I sure make new opportunities.

In what country do you live? I think your government doesn't even know that you are in bitcoins. So you can just simply earn bitcoins while the government is not going to know it. Because Russia way back few months ago, they banned bitcoin after months again they removed the ban for the usage of bitcoin and now people who are using bitcoins there are now happily using bitcoin.

If the government ban something, there are two reasons, first, they know that the thing is illegal, second, they have no knowledge about it and thinks that it is also illegal. With regards to banning, I think I won't use anything that the government is going to prohibit as long as there is a good explanation to it. So if they are going to ban bitcoin, they better have a good explanation and I will lawfully obey.
Bitcoin is freedom is they are violating the freedom of the people if they will ban bitcoins. Some countries support bitcoin but some does not, so we are just lucky if we belong to a country that supports bitcoin. Lawmakers are doing their job so we have no choice if within our country it will be ban.

I live in a democratic country and it is difficult to imagine that my government would follow a particularly tough policy toward bitcoins. On the other hand if she had serious proofs, is that possible any?  that bitcoins use is harmful for the country and its people then I would think it again but it's my decision. So, because I believe that crypto-currencies change the world I would continue to support the development and existence of it.

Here's what a "democratic" country can do. This is happening right now, as we speak.

Dakota Pipeline: Protesters Soaked With Water in Freezing Temperatures

Tear gas, freezing cold water and rubber bullets were used to disperse a crowd of 400 protesters at the Dakota Access Pipeline in clashes late Sunday and early Monday that left more than 150 activists and one law enforcement officer injured.

Linda Black Elk, a member of the Standing Rock Medic and Healer Council of the Catawba tribe, said she treated protesters for injuries and hypothermia and they were soaked by water in temperatures as low as 23 degrees. Standing Rock Sioux Chairman Dave Archambault II told NBC News that between 200-300 people were transported late Sunday night to a gymnasium on the Standing Rock Sioux reservation for treatment for hypothermia, facial and hand wounds, and other minor injuries. Approximately seven people with more serious injuries — including two elders who were tear gassed and who suffered near cardiac arrest — were sent to a hospital in Bismarck for emergency treatment, said Archambault.

He said the tribe was reaching out to the White House Monday with a request that the Obama administration intervene "due to the threat to public safety at Standing Rock."

"From the beginning, we've had water protectors attacked by guard dogs, rubber bullets and mace. Last night, law enforcement upped the ante by using exploding tear gas canisters and water cannons in sub-freezing temperatures," said Archambault. "There's no telling what law enforcement will do next."

Government will ban bitcoin because they saw its a threat to the economy to a certain country and they saw that it will surely increase the  hidden transactions on their place and might really affect the crime rate on their place.I dont know whats the reason of government but its just my own view regarding to this matter.

i don't think so , even there is ban regulated by government ,
it will not provide a big effect to bitcoin price in long term ,

The fact that the government is banning bitcoin, it means that country people are forbidden to use or transact with bitcoin.  This will have a great effect in the bitcoin economy since this country's merchant is automatically not accepting bitcoin as one of the payment in their store.  So for example, China bans bitcoin and strictly implemented the law.  Automatically all the hashes from china will stop, people from China that once supporting and participating in bitcoin economy will need to look for another alternative.  Now figure out how much of the base user of bitcoin will stop using it when bitcoin is banned in countries like China, US etc.

China has a major impact on Bitcoin for sure, but that doesn't mean Bitcoin has no future when China puts a total ban on Bitcoin. If they had such an intention, they would have done it already. Also, don't forget that the mining farms there for a major part are in the hands of outside-China investors. Everything will be moved to a different country with equal terms and electricity rates. But yes, at the time it happens, the price will lose a huge percentage of its value in a matter of 24 hours as result of a massive wave of panic blood flowing in the markets. I can't even imagine what will happen when the USA is going to do that as well. But then again, this is nothing more than a science fiction scene in a movie.
While it has not happened and maybe never will it is still useful to discuss this since in ht event something like that happened we will have  a lot more knowledge about what we may try to do in that particular scenario.
Yes I also hope so that bitcoin will continue its free status as it is in present time. As still our government has not yet given any statement about bitcoin therefore it is not banned and people are using it as legal currency. But if anything bad happens, this community will find a right solution and that may convince government too.

I chose yes not because of the fact that I dont want to obey the law or I like to go to jail, nope but because I am not living in the United States and any other advanced country that can make good of the threat. We have had several laws that ended up on the shelf and moreover which machineries do we have to really enforce the law so I would gladly continue to use my Bitcoin. It would even made it more scarce thereby increasing its value.

If Bitcoin was made illegal by your government and the punishment was very bad, would you still use it, would you still openly support it?

You asked two questions and my answer to first one is YES I would still use bitcoin even if it was declared illegal by Government. To your second question i.e if I would still openly support it, I would say NO as I don't see any point in going to jail for bitcoin

The US Gov and most any other would look stupid trying to stop something that cant be stopped. I dont think they would even think about it at this point. So its moot.

My country also prohibits the use of bitcoin, but it does not stop using bitcoin, the effect is not too bad after all. there are still local exchange, and you can still convert it into fiat, it makes no difference

Problem is Bitcoin needs good publicity because it wants to get socially accepted, sure it can't be stopped, but government and mass media can make it scary enough so that people won't use it.

Bit Torrent either can't be stopped, but it never had the will to get socially accepted.

Obviously we will need a new financial crisis for people to actually need Bitcoin regardless of what their governments says...

Ask the people of Cyprus, i think they understand pretty well why they do need a decentralized currency https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/mar/25/cyprus-bailout-deal-eu-closes-bank

At least I am not dealing with syndicate of drugs, crime or any other illegal activities. I think using of bitcoin is not already considered a crime although it was made illegal by the government and as I am only hoarding and not using it to buy illegal stuffs online then there's no reason for me to be arrested and I am anonymously hoarding bitcoin so how will they know ? Bitcoin does represent people, and we are free to choose what we wanna, and speak as long it doesnt offends the other person. I dont like some rules and restriction about what you can do with fiat, that makes bitcoin more and more atractive, i wont stop using bitcoin because the politicians say its a problematic currencie or ponzi.

But I think if a country bans bitcoin then it is showing its hand very clearly, since bitcoin is not like drugs, a government will ban bitcoin for a simple reason because they are unable to control it, and they are afraid of it.

Bitcoin really needs some good publicity as majority of people still do not know anything about bitcoin, they still need a proper guidance to start using bitcoin, and as soon as the number of bitcoin users are increasing bitcoin will become more and more stronger, through this way, government will also get pressure and they will start thinking about accepting bitcoin as legal and official currency.

How do we have that publicity you are talking, we can always support bitcoin thru online and I am pretty sure those who use online transaction are mostly illegible to use bitcoin, we cannot force other people who does not even have the idea on how to use computer. We have to admit that we cannot get the majority of population to adopt.
