of course i will still use it. maybe use vpn in site btc was blocked. but in my country there are no regulations governing of bitcoin. so bitcoin will never made illegal in here. Well, that's good if you are still willing to use bitcoin even if your government might consider it as illegal...Supposed that this really happens, I think it's not easy to dispose or use our coins and profit...Exchanges also might start to close since they will be the biggest target...How will we use our coins? VPN's could hide you but you would also need to hide your money...

Bitcoin in my country is legal for some product like electricity, phone bill but for other products is prohibited. However, many people use bitcoin for transaction that is not public because it is difficult to trace. In indonesia the legal currency is Rupiah. Using bitcoin for such products is not ilegal but for others I have never tried.

I guess it is not illegal in your country for anything but it is just not accepted for buying those stuff as there are not much places accepting bitcoin in asian countries though there are a lot in european countries. And i feel no country would ban bitcoin if they come to know about its potential and its use.

It depends on the penalty but I guess with all these regulations and laws there is always a way to circumvent them, I may look for a trusted person in a country where it is legal and transfer the Fiat currency to me, even we can have online companies offering this service because there will be demand for such

If Bitcoin was made illegal by your government and the punishment was very bad, would you still use it, would you still openly support it?
I would not make use of it at that point because I have no intend to go to jail or pay some fine because of me continuing to use Bitcoin. If it becomes illegal I have no choice but to back of from it and leave it alone.

Plenty of activities have been made illegal by the government but a lot of people are still doing it. They don't get in jail unless they get caught on the act by someone who isn't loyal enough to them to not report them. The same thing would happen to Bitcoin. We can all hide our identity but if somebody has a strong evidence that we're using Bitcoins, then they can sue us in no time. I'd still use Bitcoin at that point, even though.

well that's good that actually what you will do,but if you are didn't fear about government (by the way government is not like what you see in a movie that they can detect people in few minutes that is actually bullshit even though there's exist but only 1st tier countries) you can still avoid without being detected regardless to the risk you're going to have

so far, luckily there has been no laws about using bitcoin. so i am glad that i don't have to decide about this question in reality and it is only hypothetical for me so far. but in this hypothetical situation, i think i will still continue using bitcoin, even if it were illegal to do it. but if i wanted to start using it and it was illegal i don't think i would have!

Thats why OP is just assuming regarding on this situation which if bitcoin would be banned by government. YOu are right this situation is hypothetical but still for sure many people would tend to use it even it would be banned since bitcoin is anonymous they cant easily catch those people who disobey the rules of government.

Let's be honest, a lot of illegal stuffs are being done on the Internet especially on the deep web. A lot of people do this all the time and do you see the news flooding about cyber crime? The answer is no. Maybe it's because their identity is hidden, the government doesn't actually care about all of these illegal stuffs going on, or maybe the government's cyber army's force is too weak to trace users. Bitcoin will just be one of those illegal stuffs going on in the Internet if it's been made illegal by the government.

Yes! I mean, why not? I'm sure that my government can't control all Internet traffic in the country. Also, I will not hold BTC on my computer or in my country, so they can't order me what I will do out of my country Any way, I really don't think that something like this will happen because our politicians are stupid and don't understand BTC at all (probably never heard about it lol).

Bitcoin is not under any government so it doesn't matter what opinion they have about it, I have very strong believe in it and this is way to live with freedom and use this with anonymity and with more better privacy, I would stay with it if they ban it because I love this innovative cryptocurrency.

How hard they go after BTC use is a factor. If SWAT is raiding my home as if I was a ISIS member just because they found my real name from posting here and see a coinbase tx in my checking account. This is not impossible if government declares BTC use is a sign of Domestic Terrorism and intent to overthrow the Federal Reserve. Today tinfoil hat crazy, 5 years from now... IRS declares BTC use is illegal tax avoidance with fines and jail time for simple possession of a BTC wallet.dat. On the other hand if they don't actively search out BTC users but just add it on as an 'enhancement' to other crimes like they can for using a computer and other BS charges to convince you to 'voluntarily' plea bargain. I would probable be much more discreet but still use it.

No. I would never use bitcoins if it was termed illegal. I don't even gamble as it's illegal and I don't want to face any legal problem due to a currency. However, I can still see people from countries where bitcoins are banned and termed illegal still trading but they are taking a huge risk.
